A simple, excruciating control deck built around Stasis.

Enjoy the horrified, annoyed, and maybe even bored look on your opponent's face as they are pecked to death by hungry falcons, and there's nothing they can do about it!

I have created a more competitive version of this deck. The Falconer! 2.0 (Competitive)

Deck Mechanics

  • Stasis makes all players skip their untap steps, but no worries. You'll have plenty of ways of mitigating this. Your opponents probably won't.

  • Bay Falcon , Zephyr Falcon , and Skyshroud Falcon have vigilance, so they are unaffected by Stasis.

  • Invisible Stalker is unblockable. With Hidden Strings ciphered on him, you can untap two permanents each time he deals damage to your opponent. And with Bladed Bracers , he gains vigilance and +1/+1 as well. You can untap him with Chain Stasis if you have not equipped him with Bladed Bracers yet.

  • High Tide helps make the most of islands you tap for mana, since you may have turns where you don't have much to tap. It also makes it possible to get Frozen AEther into play on turn 3, and Stasis into play on turn 4.

  • Muddle the Mixture can be used to counter spells, or to fetch Stasis or any other spell with a converted mana cost of 2. It is especially handy if you need more falcons.

  • Frozen AEther + Stasis ensure that your opponents pretty much can't do anything.

  • For an even cheaper version of this deck, simply replace Adarkar Wastes with Plains and Islands. It's probably not the best idea to use a dual land that enters the battlefield tapped.
