Thanks to everyone who has given input on this deck. With your assistance this deck has become slightly more competitive and has really become a fun and flavorful deck to play.

Sugestions on what to board out for it? only one i can think of is Steel Hellkite and thats a possible win con.

Umm dunno. Maybe take out the Explorer's Scope, it's not that good. Or the Traveler's Amulet, since you've only got plains, it seems a bit useless.

If you like the Angel of Serenity, you should also try her twin brother Luminate Primordial loll. They're beasts.

Actually Traveler's Amulet and explorer's scope are very important to this deck as land tutors, when you are stuck for a land to drop on turn 2 Traveler's Amulet will 9 out of 10 times pull you through your mana shortage. Explorer's Scope is perfect for those times you either need an answer for your next turn or you need that one land for that spell you have been holding onto forever and it looks like the perfect time to cast for the win.

In all fairness Platinum Angel would be the best switch for her but i am loath to take out a the card because how can you have a deck called Metal Angel without at least 1 metal angel

Luminate Primordial is good but its no Admonition Angel in this deck Admonition Angel will on average trigger atleast once every turn. sometimes twice in a turn if shes wearing Explorer's Scope

You could put Mycosynth Lattice in and then all your angels would be metal...

That's not a bad idea however i would rather avoid the harassment from artifact removal as much as possible, and having everything an artifact doesn't help this deck.

Well I've been thinking Jminute... it hurt.. but only a little.. Mycosynth Lattice could help this deck.. on a few conditions.. but i don't think it would be a regular enough occurance i would have to totally revamp the deck to destroy artifacts... it could actually allow me to run cards that like to interact with artifacts as well. I do like artifacts very much, however i have had bad experiences in standard in using artifacts. there is always that one card that ruins a great deck idea. Now that said, i know i am the kind of person to do just that.. add that one card that ruins your whole deck. A prime example of this in this deck is Iona, Shield of Emeria. and i guess for her sake i could never run a Mycosynth Lattice.

But at the same time you could name Red or Green and redirect any artifact hate you might encounter. Although a well placed Vandalblast could mess up your day.

You're right though, you already run a few things with Metalcraft, and you could easily tailor your removal to lean more towards artifacts. Run a few things that give "protection from artifacts." as well. I was surprised to find no Stoneforge Mystic in your list, but not everyone appreciates her as much as I do. I have a shiny one I pulled out of a pack during the Worldwake days so she holds a special place in my heart, pre-CawBlade days.

I was going to suggest Scourglass but it kind of has reverse synergy with the Lattice. But when you have Avacyn out, it's kind of hard to go wrong.

You do have Indomitable Archangel, throw a Darksteel Forge in and you've essentially won.

March 7, 2013 11:42 a.m.

Stoneforge Mystic... yeah that i could use.. thanks.

March 7, 2013 7:14 p.m.

Indomitable Archangel is to buy me time. My commander already does what Darksteel Forge does and then some.. the redundancy is a bit much and if i took out something for a 9 drop that would bump up the cost and make it less killy.

I have to agree, redundancy in indestructibility is a tad annoying. I run Dauntless Escort next to avacyn in The Angels at Sacellum and I always get a tad peeved when I draw the escort AFTER I have Avacyn. Meh, the fun of 100 card formats.

Looks like i got a few new goodies.. not the ones i wanted but still very nice. Sculpting Steel and Gauntlet of Power

I've just been thinking, with so many artifacts that can be used, and so many having quite low CMC... why not Mirrorworks ? Having two of any of your big artifacts makes it all the better, as does extra ramp/extra anything really. It may not seem like a great suggestion, but it's worth at east suggesting.

I'd also consider more boardwipes or damage prevention, just in case you do get stopped in your tracks by some heavy-hitting fatties.

April 13, 2013 9:25 p.m.

Mirrorworks is a good card however it doesn't work with my white cards or Avacyn, Angel of Hope , also it costs mana to make copies of things i really usually only need one of. If i can use more then one i have Prototype Portal which by itself can become a win con with the right cards in hand.

And onto the topic of boardwipes and damage prevention. For issues like this i have good solutions. I have 8 boardwipes in this deck, enough to ensure that i will get one in every game as well as many ways to tutor for them, also i have plenty of removal cards for those big heavy hitting fatties. Like it or not your Blightsteel Colossus can't win when i toss down some thing simple like a Fiend Hunter or an instant speed Path to Exile . This deck is tuned to ramp fast so that if all goes well the biggest fatty is mine, either in the form of an angel or Avacyn, Angel of Hope herself.
