Hadana's Hexproof Hijinks

Standard*

SereneTsunami

Sideboard

Hoping to make kill shots on turn 5-6 by climbing big hexprrof creatures. Tried this as a merfolk deck with mixed results. Addition of Vine Mare to Carnage Tyrant s top of food chain power gives this deck the ability to onehit players. Dryads and Sprites work wonders early to stall aggro and filter/draw cards. One more hexproof creature in Alliances and I can add Curious Obsession .

Updates Add

It's looking like Incubation Druid is the biggest add for this deck. Gitting aster was the main prisim through which I viewed cards. This on turn 2, then Hadana's Climb  Flip means a turn 4 Carnage Tyrant and nothing is wrong with that. I am starting with 2 by dropping a Dryad and a Sprite. Both of those little guys are awesome, but ramp is so tempting.

Sharktocrab is a very exciting creature. With a Climb on turn 3 it can tap down a creature the turn it enters. Then can do it again before it attacks. Neutralizing the opponents best creature while I am waiting to flip Climb is a dream ability. I will try 2 of them instead of the Elves. The Elves are great for this deck, but I need to see if the Shark's effect is even better.

Repudiate / Replicate is very interesting, but I would have to sacrifice Syncopates to do it. Syncopates save lives every game.

+1, love the deck! Could a Supreme Will replace Admiral's Order? You would normally counter spells on an opponent's turn!

Thanks for the comments! Admiral's Order was perfect when this was a merfolk deck. It made sure my Hadana's climb attack worked, and for only one blue mana. Since I have moved towards hexproof creatures it is less useful. The spell that replaces it needs to be 2 mana or less so I can Climb and cast it. If I went full hexproof, Titanic Growth would make guaranteed one shot kills. More play is needed.

Congrats on the deck's performance! How's the sideboard been doing, any decks you don't have answers for?

Thats a great question. I am pretty haphazard at sidebording, but seeing as how I have spent alot on this deck and it seems to be a viable idea I should work harder to formalize one. I currently have 3x Naturalize, 3x Thrashing Brontodon becuase I face some combo decks. Green stompy and zombies are a problem I also face. I have 3 essense scatters, and I sub in 4 Blossoming defense to kill Champion as he attacks. I had considered Runic Armasaur and Merfolk Trickster, I especially like the trickster. I would appreciate any and all advise on sideboarding.

Hi SereneTsunami,

Thanks for the deck. I'm trying to make a deck out of a combination of 3 skyriders and a vivien of the arkbow that I got from draft and the planeswalker pack. But I'm having a hard time balancing blue content (opt, cancel, essence) with ramp to get the big guys out. The dryad greenseeker idea is a good one though!Love it. It's called "UG Elvish Airborne" if you're able to make comments. Thanks again!
