Well I recently was looking at god cards and came across Athreos, The god of passage, and he just looked too cool not to try and find some fun mechanics that would work great with him. I think Athreos has so much potential because of the fact that you can drop him in on turn 3, with potentially 2 or 3 other creatures already on the battlefield. I added powerful 1 drops to keep up with early game and their worth only increases when you find a Xathrid Necromancer. That combined with proclamation of rebirth means that you can just keep cycling through your cards. I like the splash of red for some extra removal and vexing devil I feel is such a powerful combo for this deck. He will either resolve and you keep a 4/3 on the field or they take 4. With Athreos he can do so much for so little.
