Psionic Sliver
Creature — Sliver
All Sliver creatures have "Tap: This creature deals 2 damage to target creature or player and 3 damage to itself."

Once abilities are on the stack they exist independently of their sources. The ability will resolve and deal damage to the targeted creature assuming that nothing has happened to prevent it in the case of both Slip Out the Back and Cloudshift on your Psionic Sliver. In both cases your Psionic Sliver won't take damage, though for different reasons. With Slip Out the Back it is phased out and treated as if it doesn't exist and therefore can not be damaged. With Cloudshift it is a different game object than the one that activated the ability and therefore will not be damaged. Last known information will be used in each case to determine the characteristics of the Psionic Sliver that dealt the damage.

I tap a Psionic Sliver to activate its ability. Before that resolves, I target the Sliver with Slip Out the Back. Does the Sliver takes damage, and does the target of its ability take damage? How about if I use Cloudshift instead of Slip Out the Back?

In a less competitive play i use Reflections of Littjara, it's double fun. The Cauldron of Eternity does a lot of work in a slow game, eventualy combined with Pulmonic Sliver. It sets your top deck and makes your sliver's tutorable. The combo Psionic Sliver and Spiteful Sliver is a cheap option too.

OP_Sigma, I was aware of Spiteful Sliver - and was mulling over what it could be combined with. I guess now is a time to have a discussion over it. As a "counter" to Blasphemous Act effects...it's okay. When combined Psionic Sliver the damage to itself aspect of it's ability seems like it could be put to some good use...but then there's the issue where most Slivers don't have that much toughness - unless a Sliver Legion (or other lord) is present. Can you think of any combos or synergies with Spiteful Sliver ?

This will work. Abilities on the stack exist independently of their source. If the source does, the ability still resolved.
Here, let’s call the sliver we are using A. Here is how the stack plays:
-
You activate A’s ability conferred by Psionic Sliver . It goes on the stack.
-
Before that resolves, you sacrifice it using A’s ability conferred to it by Darkheart Sliver .
-
The Darkheart ability resolves, you gain 3 life.
-
The Psionic ability resolves and deals two damage to the target. It did not fizzle just because A died, unless A was the target for the ability (which would be a tad silly).

This is a question that came up today in my EDH group. I had both Psionic Sliver and Darkheart Sliver in play. My question is: can I tap another sliver for Psionic Sliver 's ability, and then immediately sack it with Darkheart Sliver , both dealing the two damage and gaining the three life? Or will the ability fizzle since there is no sliver to take the three damage. Thanks in advance!

I actually built a version of this deck but later changed it to have Jodah helm the deck. I agree with Shagreel but disagree with his selection. Run slivers that do things, like Gemhide Sliver , Manaweft Sliver , Necrotic Sliver , Harmonic Sliver , Constricting Sliver , Basal Sliver , Darkheart Sliver , or Psionic Sliver . if you are gonna go that route though slipping an Arcane Adaptation and Conspiracy may be worth your while.
Also I think there's a bug with your deck page, I can't seem to find Tamiyo, Field Researcher might want to get a mod to take a look at that lol.
