Kili the Resourceful
Legendary Creature — Dwarf Scout
Storied (If you control three or more artifacts, legendaries and/or Sagas, you have an enduring story for the rest of the game.)
As long as you have an enduring story, you may pay rather than pay the equip cost of the first equip ability you activate each turn.
Whenever another Dwarf or Equipment you control enters, draw a card. This ability triggers only once each turn.

White's card draw is orders of magnitude better than it was when I first built this deck. Back then there was so little available that I had no choice but to heavily supplement the deck colourless engines and two-card value pairs to fulfil the need.
Things started changing for the better about a decade ago. Now there's plenty of card draw to work with, such as punishing opponents for performing certain actions, rewarding you for attacking with multiple creatures, supporting specific themes, the Monarch mechanic, and sharing with other players for the political angle. White isn't struggling anymore.
I see Swordsman's Steel as a tutorable draw spell first and a P/T-boosting Equipment after the fact. I wouldn't cast it until I had other Equipment on board to get a few cards from it. I don't mind its higher costs when it offers up-front value. Expensive Equipment don't deter me if they're worth the effort.
I'm not really interested in Bilbo's Gambit. Reprieve works so well as a spell-bounce because it replaces itself. If I wanted a Silence effect, my first choice would be Orim's Chant for its more ease of use and the option to deny an attack.
Kili the Resourceful is definitely replacing Sram. The more ways to equip for free the better!

Sram move aside! We have a high chance of an upgrade with Kili in our midst. Having an opportunity of a free equip on top of card draw makes him the whole package, and still costing two mana!
Yes, the card draw only happens once on each turn. I feel like we can work around playing one equipment per turn since we are often using the rest the of the mana on the equip ability or leaving it up for interaction anyway. Yes, we will have to have two more equipment/legendary things out to get the storied part of the card. I feel like it’s pretty easy to achieve since we would literally just need our commander and any equipment along with it to get that part online. Yes, he has one less power than Sram, but Kili having that storied ability more than makes up for it.
Fun fact to consider. Kili does not limit the card draw to your turn only, so if you somehow flash in an equipment on your opponents turn, we can get more card draw that way. Funny way to apply the same thing for the storied part is if we somehow equip at instant speed, we can have the first one be free on each of your opponents turn.
