seems like it's losing all its key components in the Cloudfin Raptor Tidebinder Mage and Nightveil Specter ....a shame really i only just started playing this deck.
What do you think? M15 didnt bring too much in the way of replacing cards, except maybe Chasm Skulker
what do you think is the future of MUD?

Both of the leading devotion decks will have to rebuild after rotation. Mono blue and mono black both lean heavily on rtr creatures for their creature base

Caligula Not that I'm biased or anything (cough Soul of Neil Patrick Harris cough) but Ensoul Artifact seems to me like it belongs in a Izzet shell using Generator Servant and Chief Engineer to get big artifacts out and swinging along with the Ornithopter s and Darksteel Citadel s.

On topic, Vortex Elemental could be a thing. It's a little less aggressive but it's still an elemental and it still can be used for removal.

I think the Vortex Elemental will find a home in a few control decks as a way to get around hexproof aggro. I'm surprised with naya hexproof being the thing lately people haven't tinkered with it a little more, even as a 2 of out of the sideboard

I know i am way off topic here but, I have been thinking this very same thing about RDW. We will have to see what Kahns brings us because as it right now it loses so much in the way of devotion and key element cards. BTE, Rakdos Shred-freak, chandras phoenix, madcap skills, mortars, the reckoner really it is going to take a beating in card selection as far as devotion goes. So MUD RDW and Control are going to lose a lot of elements. I see american control or BG anything doing well, but MBD may lose some of its steam with the rats leaving and losing out on D-Demon and nightveil(for those who run it ) but it still looks pretty good right now with some of the options for replacement.

Haha Ohthenoises I was looking at that the other day, couldn't agree more lol, red is adding a whole other game to U/affinity.

Ohthenoises. I could see A Blue control shell with some biggies like Soul of New Phyrexia and Scuttling Doom Engine
(But really I just want to see a deck like Jon Finkles "Tinker" deck)Which well never happen because tinker is too good. :P

Quadsimotto - have no fear. Rdw is always a thing. M15 brought some good new cards and im sure khans will bring more.

Why are people talking about post rotation when we haven't even seen Khans spoilers yet?

My only care for "rotation" is just based on M15 not having much artifact support. That being said, Scuttling Doom Engine has a silly synergy with Akroan Horse ....

I don't really think it's reasonable to start looking at what various decks will do post rotation until we see Khans. At this point, almost every deck is losing key cards. Look at U/W/x control. They lose Sphinx's Revelation , Supreme Verdict and Detention Sphere . Not to mention Jace, Architect of Thought . G/R monsters loses Domri Rade and BTE. It's best to wait till we see what cards Khans can replace before we start looking at post rotation stuff.

InconspicuousPotato They can't block the doom engine with the horse so you keep getting guys.

G/R monsters never ran BTE. But it still loses Ghor-Clan Rampager , Scavenging Ooze , Mizzium Mortars , Flesh / Blood , Domri Rade , and most of it's sideboard.
July 16, 2014 12:24 p.m.
I've definitely seen lists than ran BTE. But that's neither here nor there. Bottom line, pretty much every deck loses a shit ton of key cards.

It's true that it's too early to think completely about post rotation, but if a deck is getting dismantled and got no help in m15, being concerned is not unreasonable.
July 16, 2014 12:44 p.m.
I mean sure, to an extent. But like I said, every deck is getting dismantled. Until we see Khans, there's really no way to know what the format will look like, or what various decks will do to fill in the gaps.

I have recently starting playing MUD after finally getting my hands on 3 x Thassa, God of the Sea and i like playing a lot. So taking into account the curve of the deck as is at the moment and looking at all cards available Unless KoT has some real good 2 blue and 3 blue creatures come out of it,for that matter even 1 blue. The average cmc will probably go up to compensate or the deck will be much "less" devotion driven. Guess we'll have to see.
I for one hope i can keep playing it in some kind of competitive form. I've already taken advantage of some of the M15 cards such as Encrust in my main and Polymorphist's Jest in my side plus i dont run any Judge's Familiar like most MUD shells do i prefer Hypnotic Siren .

We have the shell for a hyper aggressive blue deck right now with loads of CMC1-2 creatures with unblockable or flying. Add in all the tempo cards from the last two setts and there might be some type of tempo beat-down deck for blue post rotation. The one thing that I know is that the deck will be very different since 80-90% of the deck will rotate and I think it's better to start fresh.

Mono Blue Tempo/Beatdown Playtest

SCORE: 0 | 0 COMMENTS | 35 VIEWSThis is the deck I'm looking at right now as an option for MUD. It's all about tempo play and can morph pretty well with the SB depending on what I'm playing against.

Ensoul Artifact = U/affinity could be a thing
That on a Darksteel Citadel or an Ornithopter = 5/5 Turn 2.
1 Potentially indestructible D=
