I havn't played in like 7 years. Suggestions of ways I could update it using newer cards would be appreciated.
Well well well ohh lookey here Sov92 has put out (Drum roll) yet another tron deck.
So what is it that this tron deck does? How does it work? What makes it different from other tron decks? Well there is one simple and often overlooked card. Genesis Wave.
Aww crap look at that Genesis Wave requires 3 green mana to play. Tron decks are champions of colorless mana spawning 7 mana by turn 3 so there is absolutely no reason why we cant play a Gilded Lotus and get this deck running by turn 4.
Like most of my other tron builds we are running Phyrexian Metamorph and Sculpting Steel which adds to EVERYTHING in here. Need more mana copy Genesis Wave!!! Need more Phattys? copy Sundering Titan or Wurmcoil Engine. That Supreme Verdict might not work so well for the opponent if we got an army of Wurmcoil Engines Blow something up? Spine of Ish Sah
Theres so many things to copy its hard to choose. Good thing we don't have to if we play Genesis Wave. By the time its played we have enough mana to use Genesis Wave to pretty much play the entire deck.
"In response to your Genesis Wave..."you wont hear this too often when you use Boseiju, Who Shelters All to protect it. Well how come were only running 1 you ask? A lot of people who play tron forget that tron lands are not the only thing you can find with Expedition Map or Sylvan Scrying but any land can be found with this...Cavern of Souls keeps cards like Wurmcoil Engine safe from counter spells.
The mana is one of the coolest things in this deck. With City of Brass and Gemstone Mine our opponent never know what were gonna run...and sometimes neither do we. Any card in magic could be put in this deck if desired. Do we need haste? We could fit a Hammer of Purphoros in there and not worry about mana.
What about the side deck? Wrath of God cause sometimes destroying only 1 creature doesn't cut it. Tormod's Crypt Dredge this!! Eternal Witness May someday wish we had another... Disrupting Scepter Good luck holding onto that surprise Render Silent when we have nothing better to do with mana. Dismember because surprise creature rapeage Cavern of Souls and Boseiju, Who Shelters All cause we might at some point want another.
Sometimes in casual settings I would throw in some altered art City of Ass just to see if someone notices.
