First time out: 4-1 —Jan. 22, 2018
Took the deck out for a spin and was happy to see it perform well in the wild! Of note though, these were just pick-up games (hopefully as prep for actual tournament play later this week).
- 1-0 vs. Mardu Vehicles: Game 1 felt great. My opp was on plan, with Chandra, Torch of Defiance, Heart of Kiran, and buckets of value Creatures. But was just no match for Walking Ballista, Whirler Virtuoso, Maverick Thopterist, a few Modules, and enough mana to either recur the Artificers or pump the Ballista every turn. Opp got salty so we only played one.
- 2-0 vs. RG Dinos: Fabrication Module was MVP in Game 1. Instant-speed +1/+1 counters are just superb. In: Harnessed Lightning and Aethersphere Harvester / Out: Glimmer of Genius and Reckless Fireweaver. Thriving Turtle was probably MVP in Game 2 ... the ability to block Ranging Raptors without triggering Enrage kept my opp from getting the Lands needed to execute his plan. Thopters did work (as always) and a late-game Walking Ballista made it gg.
- 1-2 vs. UB Pirates: Game 1 was rough. Whatever opp didn't make me discard with Fell Flagship, he grabbed with Hostage Taker. In: Harnessed Lightning and Sweltering Suns / Out: Thriving Turtle and Reckless Fireweaver. Game 2 was close, but I drew more Whirler Virtuosos than my opp drew Hostage Takers or Fatal Pushes. Game 3 was also close, despite my opp finding their Scarab God and enough Hostage Takers to disrupt my Modules badly. In the end though, my opp drew more Lookout's Dispersals and Fatal Pushes than I drew value Creatures.
- 2-0 vs. BW Tokens: Reckless Fireweaver was MVP in Game 1, getting my opp low enough for my swarm of Servos to get past opp's with just enough damage for gg. In: Negate and Aethersphere Harvester / Out: Reckless Fireweaver and Glimmer of Genius. Fabrication Module + Decoction Module were co-MVPs in Game 2, allowing me to go tall faster than my opponent could find Fatal Pushes or go wide.
- 2-1 vs. UB Reservoir: Battle of the jank decks! Game 1 was either a total mana screw or a bad keep, depending on who I want to blame. Out: Glint-Nest Crane and Thriving Turtle / In: Negate and Aethersphere Harvester (though I thought hard about bringing in Crook of Condemnation instead). Game 2 was insane ... the deck can of course go infinite with 3x Decoction Modules and a Whirler Virtuoso, but I'd never done it in real life. Until this game! Game 3, I basically got there with Reckless Fireweaver and a full set of Modules.
As always, thanks to everyone who's made comments and suggestions so far! They're all archived here or behind the View Archive button below.

Cragon18,
I just wanted to say thanks for bring the first to recommend Maverick Thopterist. It's really good in the deck.
Corrosive_Cat,
Similarly, thanks for pointing me towards Reckless Fireweaver ... I hadn't thought about running until I saw it in your Artifacts deck.
