-- THE DOPPLER EFFECT --

"The Doppler effect is the change in frequency of a wave for an observer moving relative to its source. It is commonly heard when a vehicle sounding a siren approaches, passes, and recedes from an observer. Compared to the emitted frequency, the received frequency is higher during the approach, identical at the instant of passing by, and lower during the recession." -Wiki.

I admit it: I was remembering one of the first episodes of Big Bang Theory, with Sheldon dressed as "Doppler Effect" and immediately aked myself: should I build a new deck around this idea? probably not. But did it, however. Here it is!!!

My deck focuses on the board-control mechanic. To do so, I will use a lot of blink spells on other permanents so they become the "siren" of the example above; they enter, they have an effect, they will pass.

How to use the deck?

  • We don't have counterspells, I tried to put 4 of them into, but there is no space... That's why our response to certain approaces can't be different from "So be it".

  • We can blink anykind of permanet on the board, we can activate our ETB a lot of times... and we can obligate the opponent to sacrifice his permanents.

  • When Reality Acid leaves the battlefield we are on the right way. At first we can enchant ANY permanet, then we will blink, and enchant another peranent.

  • Leyline of Anticipation is a must be 'cause it simply trasforms all our cards into instants. That's mean! Yay!!

  • Gilded Drake is another funny piece of this deck: for just 2CMC we gain permanetly control af an enemy Fatty... and if we blink the drake, we will gain control af another creature :)

  • Don't forget Sun Titan, because he can give back to us ANY permant card in this deck except for itself and Venser.

  • Wasteland and Reality Acid can be used to destroy all the opponent's manabase simply blinking the acid or recurring Wasteland with the Titan

  • Jace Beleren. Why is he here? I don't expect to use ultimate and win-mill. He will stay as our "Draw-Slave", using always -1 (for a total od 3 cards for 3cmc) and recur him with the titan AND to scare my opponents for his ultimate

  • Our star can't be anyone other than Venser, the Sojourner! His main ability can blink the Acid, an O-ring, the Drake and so on. With a barely -1 we can set all our creatures as unblocable for the final swing Sun Titan + Celestial Colonnade. I think that Venser's ultimate is self explanatory. It's sick!
