What you want to do is give Protean Hydra a static buff, such as Dragon Fangs , Ethereal Armor, Spider Umbra , or Triclopean Sight . Then what you will want to do so you can no longer take damage is put Pariah onto Protean Hydra . Once you put Protean Hydra out, even for two counters, he is scary. Triclopean Sight so he can block and attack each turn so he gets bigger and bigger. Since you have the static buff onto him he literally can't die from taking combat damage. But he can still be killed from spells, so what you want to do is get Privileged Position out so he can no longer. Then if you need help getting protean out just use Eladamri's Call or Sylvan Tutor. Use Dragon Fangs to give your hydra trample. Use Lure to make sure they have to block so your hydra gets larger. Put fear into your opponents hearts with a near impossible to kill hydra that gets bigger if they block him and still can get through no matter what they throw in his path. Devour those token decks into pieces. Have fun while doing it!
