Working on a somewhat janky Izzet-Splash-White midrange that uses fat dragons.
I'm trying to control and/or tempo the board until about turn 5, then start dropping dragons to beat down and trigger Scourge of Valkas. Yeah, we're going full retard.
This deck went from somewhat serious to seriously janky, but at this point I actually feel like it's a lot more dedicated to one direction of play than it was before.
A few things that I am trying to get advice on this deck are:
How can we improve on the synergies with the dragons? Also, what would be some spells that would fit in here that benefit from Hypersonic Dragon giving them flash?
I didn't want to splash a third color, but the removal options offered by doing so in the form of Chained to the Rocks for blue meanies, Detention Sphere for big creatures, planeswalkers, and enchantments and Wear / Tear to compensate for my third color to take care of Burning Earth made for a strong argument in favor of trying white. We'll see if that was a good idea.
The mana looks awkward on paper, but as long as I actually draw lands I haven't run into any problems. Scourge of Valkas is sort of an interesting card. It turns my other dragons into removal spells, but doesn't immediately threaten the board a lot by itself. It tends to be the second dragon I cast. I might end up going 1 less of that and 1 more Stormbreath Dragon. Alternatively I might take out 1 Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius from the main deck for the other Stormbreath Dragon. I still want the other Niv-Mizzet in the sideboard, but I don't know what I'd cut for it.
