The Run Down
You must be as mad as Avacyn if you don't think a turn 5, maybe even turn 4 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is a little unfair. Well suck it up cause Magic isn't fair.
Of course, wizards printed a devil worse then Tibalt called Descendants' Path. This card, if your lucky, will find you a Emrakul or Ulamog in your deck and will "CAST IT" without paying its mana cost as long as you have another Eldrazi on the battlefield. Since Mutavault is a card that won't be too difficult to pull off. Path to Exile and Dismember stable out the battle field.
Turn 1: Mutavault
Turn 2: Forest,
Blisterpod
Turn 3: Descendants' Path
Turn 4: Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger ;)
Now some of you may be thinking, "Why would anyone ever play a single
Blisterpod
in Modern?". We need to have an Eldrazi on the battlefield. Mutavault works well because it functions as a land and an Eldrazi. But what about a Lightning Bolt or a Dismember? Well Blisterpod's ability allows us to get an Eldrazi Scion so we will still have an Eldrazi. It replaces itself with itself! I am also running Street Wraith and
Abundant Growth
as draw but need more card draw and deck efficiency suggestions.
So the deck is to jam big doods and play them. But if there not on top of your library what will you do?!?! Good question Jimmy. Use Congregation at Dawn. Lets find the fatties that we need and cost them for practically 3 mana. We also are running a sweet card called Dawn Charm which gives us protection from either creatures or any burn before we stabilize into the combo.
Side Board
Little Jimmy wants to know what we have to do if we go against a fast deck like Burn of Zoo. Well little Jimmy, Feed the Clan works great since it gains us enough life to hopefully stabalize.
Little Jimmy wants to know what we have to do if we go against a graveyard deck like Living End or Dredge. Well little Jimmy, why do you think wizards printed Relic of Progenitus? Because if you play Living End or Dredge, your dreams will be flushed down the toilet. (I know from experience cause I'm a proud Living End player).
Little Jimmy wants to know what happens if we go against an artifact deck life Affinity. Well little Jimmy, if your not dead by turn 4 against affinity, Creeping Currosion is the way to go, if your still terrified, running a Natural State or two never hurts. (Unless you play affinity of course)
Little Jimmy wants to know what we should do if we go against a combo decks like Kiki Jiki or grimy decks like Planeswalkers? Pithing Needle works brilliantly because it completely shuts down there deck. No coming back with Kiki.
Little Jimmy loves to play Infect. It is his favorite deck to play. How do we defeat Infect though? Well we can play Spellskite which should absorb some pump spells if we need it too.
How Good is this deck?
Fun for FNM but don't expect to win a GP. I will be doing some tests on MTGO soon.
