This deck is weakest against control and Mono-blue. Any suggestions for how to best deal with those decks are greatly appreciated. Any other suggestions to improve the deck in general are welcome and appreciated. The deck aims to ideally start with an Experiment One, which turn 2 is swinging for 2 when any of my 10 2 drops come down, preferably either
Fleecemane Lion
or Voice of Resurgence. Then comes turn 3 and it gets fun. You can play any of the 8 3 drops. Lead by Brimaz, King of Oreskos, and then followed closely by either Eidolon of Countless Battles who enters as a 3/3, or a flashed in Flashed in
Boon Satyr
as a nice combat trick to unexpectedly pump my Experiment One. Then turn 4 comes around, and hopefully I can cast either Polukranos, World Eater to bash some faces in, or save the
Advent of the Wurm
as a nice combat trick for either my combat phase to evolve the Experiment One, or on my Opponents turn as a surprise blocker. Then turn 5 hits and I have a variety of options. Make
Fleecemane Lion
monstrous, or I could do the same and kill a creature and have a monstrous 7/7 Polukranos, World Eater. Or lastly I can play an Arbor Colossus for a huge 6/6 that deals with my opponents flying. Then from there on I can cast Elspeth, Sun's Champion turn 6 to pump out tokens or clear the board if things got out of hand, or even monstrous Arbor Colossus to kill a flyer and get an unreal 9/9. All of this is why I refer to the deck as "The Perfect Curve?" It comes out fast, curves out beautifully, kills it in the mid-game, and is more than relevant in the late game. As such, I would still love suggestions as to how to make the deck that much better. Now for the card descriptions
Main Deck
4x Experiment One- quite possibly the best one drop in green EVER. A guy that comes out fast, always gets bigger, and can regenerate! What more can you ask for!?
2x Scavenging Ooze- since this is an aggro deck, tons of creatures may be hitting the graveyard, and this guy gets bigger and better off of them while gaining me life! He's great in the late game. Hence why I only have 2. I ant to draw him late, but I wont want to draw many of him, since usually only the first one is good since he eats everything.
4x Voice of Resurgence- pretty self explanatory why I have all 4 copies in here... best 2 drop in the format! Huge tokens if he dies, and just crushes control.
4x
Fleecemane Lion
- amazing 2 drop tha enters as a 3/3 for 2... Say what!? And then the monstrous ability to give him hexproof and indestructible to give my opponents headaches... of course I'm going to run all for of him!
3x
Selesnya Charm
- Amazing instant for only 2 mana! It gets rid of the Gods and Desecration Demon... Nuff said. However, it also kills other huge threats, maybe gives me a Knight id I want it, but lastly it can also pump through the last bit of damage that I need to kill an opponent. All around amazing card that does more than I could possibly imagine for this deck. However I only run 3 since I have enough other 2 drops already.
3x Brimaz, King of Oreskos- best 3 drop in BOTG, This one is pretty self explanatory. I chose 3 though, since he is Legendary, and I don't want to draw to many of him that just sit in my hand.
3x
Boon Satyr
- amazingly versatile... flash in on my opponents turn as a combat trick, or do the same as a bestow! He is huge as a 4/2 on his own for just 3, but his bestow to make my other threats huge is killer, and makes him an amazingly versatile. However I settles on three, merely because I wanted room for the Eidolon of Countless Battles.
2x Eidolon of Countless Battles- amazing card that gets absolutely huge in this deck with all the creatures! Already a 3/3 for 3 when he first comes in usually, but then he just gets bigger from there! And the bestow is unreal! Make my other creatures huge is more than I could ever imagine. Great card, but I only want 2 since the other 3 drops are simply just better and more consistent. Still a great card though.
3x Polukranos, World Eater- one of the best 4 drops in standard right now... An already huge threat as a 5/5 turn 4, but then he only gets bigger from there, and kills some of my opponents creatures! What more could you ask for from a creature. Absolutely amazing, but still he is sadly legendary, so like Brimaz, King of Oreskos I will only run 3.
3x
Advent of the Wurm
- a 5/5 for 4! Say what!? And with flash!? Of course I'm going to run this card! Amazingly large and versatile. However, just 3 copies, since I love it, but I also love Polukranos,Wold Eater, and I'm going for a lower curve. (The Perfect Curve?)
3x Arbor Colossus- unreal 5 drop as an already huge 6/6! THen you make it better by giving him reach which is a huge problem for this deck, and you have the perfect creature to top out this perfect curve. Plus his monstrous ability to kill a flyer is just unreal. The perfect top end creature for this deck hence why I run 3 and not 4 since 5 is a large cost for this fast deck!
Elspeth, Sun's Champion- one of the best planeswalkers in standard right now and her +1 is unreal, and her -3 saves my ass in games. However she does cost 6, so I will only run 2 of her, but she does make a perfect top off to the curve.
Side Board
3x Mistcutter Hydra- is almost unanswerable to control and mono-blue, two of these decks huge problems, so of course I want it! And he can come in at any point on the curve. He is just the perfect sideboard card for this deck. So 3 for sure since he combats this decks 2 biggest problems perfectly.
3x Banisher Priest- a solid bodied 2/2, but it provides removal, which is something this deck sorely needs, so 3 for sure since i need more removal in this deck.
2x
Last Breath
- Gets rid of pesky early game fliers, or cards like master of waves and the ilk. Both things this deck can't deal with, which this card does well, so 2 for sure.
3x
Glare of Heresy
- gets rid of Gideon, Champion of Justice and Elspeth, Sun's Champion. Both huge planeswalkers that are hugely annoying for this deck. But not every deck runs white, so definitely only 2.
3x
Plummet
- Gets rid of fliers for only 2. Flying is this decks biggest problem so I want to run this for sure! Nuff. said.
So yeah... Thats my deck. Let me know what you guys think about the "Perfect Curve?". All suggestions are welcome as to how to improve against control and mono-blue, as well as just in general. Mostly I want comments on how to tweak the sideboard for match-ups, or just how you guys think I can make the curve and deck that much better. Thanks for all the help and support, and good-luck to you guys in your future deck building exploits!
