Back when we were all brewing with 'new' WAR cards, many people started out with decks that tried to exploit the bounce effect of
Feather, the Redeemed
. After a while, all brews seemed to start heading in a single direction, possibly missing out on some fun, and rather effective options. This is one line of thought that seemed to peter out, but still shows considerable promise.
I rather like this Jeskai version of a Feather deck.
Beamsplitter Mage
just opens up a whole range of extra combinations. Krenko with Angelic Exaltation or Blackblade Reforgedis horribly over-played and very predictable. Most Feather decks also seem to play far more creatures than pump spells, which really seems a bit silly if your main focus is to recycle pump spells.
Does copying a pump spell with
Beamsplitter Mage
mean that
Spellgorger Weird
gets 2 +1/+1 counters?
The starting point still uses
Feather, the Redeemed
to recycle pump spells, but splashing blue allows
Dive Down
,
Dovin's Veto
and
Negate
to protect Feather.
Reliquary Tower
allows you to keep more cards in hand between turns - so you can end up recycling 10, or more, pump spells per turn.
Beamsplitter Mage
allows you to pump more than 1 creature at a time.
A pumped-up
Swiftblade Vindicator
can be devestating with it's double-strike effect.
Spellgorger Weird
and
Tenth District Legionnaire
collect +1/+1 tokens and can become rather powerful.
