Immolating Souleater is a U/B combo style deck that aims to kill someone in one turn with immolating Souleater. As such, the deck features 2 primary ways to go about that. One is through infect. Simply paying the necessary amount of life in exchange for the 10 power needed to kill someone is one route of victory. The other is through Rite of Consumption. Rite allows us to pay the life, attack, then drain the remainder from our opponent.

One thing to note is that the one turn kill combo is more fragile that it seems, as it often involves having 20 life or more in order to perform the combo. To help prevent us from killing ourselves, cards like Radiant Fountain and Dismal Backwater are great at keeping our life total relatively high.
