Ok, So here is goes... DRAGONS IN STANDARD AGAIN AND THEY KICK ASS!!!
I'm actually so excited about this, it was a blast to play. What was even better was peoples reactions when I was landing an 8 drop DRAGON WITH HASTE AND +2 FROM A OGER!!!
WHAT THE EFF!!!
So lets step back and break this down card by card
Domri Rade Almost a must, landing him on turn two is quite nice he gets your guys going and when you need a pit fight he just pulls it off... really nice card to have.
Dragon Egg
essentially a dragon and a blocker, for three mana it is not that bad... bounces off of purphoros two times if you land him late game so thats 4 damage for just blocking, thats also nice as he's a dragon and triggers Scourge of Valkas so its essentially a dope egg.
Elvish Mystic try playing this deck with out them... it wont work...
Hammer of Purphoros
late game after some board wipe or somthing there is not much better than getting your golem on. has great synergy with xenagos as your lands make golems that produce mana and it gives some effing dragons HASTE!!! suck it snitches, not to mention the 1RR cost helps make your god of the forge a monster...
Mizzium Mortars take's out early dorks or later threats... or everything, you can potentially overload on turn 4 so yea, good back pocket stuff.
Ogre Battledriver the look on peoples face when this guy hops on the back of a dragon and flys into there face is the only reason I'm posting this deck. he's amazing, however he's so prone to removal... I'm considering ditching him, but yea, totally worth keeping him in for the rare occasions of putting your pomes in someone...
Purphoros, God of the Forge devotion really isn't an issue with this deck so its like... hell yea I wanna kill you faster I'll just do two damage to you while I play my Utvara Hellkite and make my god a creature... let my Ogre Battledriver clime aboard swing with a 10 fricken 8 fricken dragon while making another 6/6 dragon doing an additional 2 damage to you... yea you just took at least 14 to the face from a card that cant be played in standard... not to mention odds are I probably blew your mind... maybe I made another 6/6 token by swinging with a Stormbreath Dragon or maybe the little dragon that could after he burst out of his egg on turn 4... shouldn't have neglected him huh?
Scourge of Valkas devotion, and a flying 4/4 and he looks dope... keeps the flavour going and just about everything else is pretty dope about him.
Stormbreath Dragon This guy is BAD ASS the ramp provided means he's gonna be a 7/7 pissing on your opponent from the sky laughing at there controlled removal... he's just like... suck it, I cost $35 and this is why, then he takes a 7 damage crap on your opponents face and just laughs his way to the bank...
Sylvan Caryatid its not a ramp party without these naked tree snitches...
Utvara Hellkite this broken card brings the party... land him with haste and its a better feeling that top decking a bonfire to make top 32 at the Calgary Grand Prix... its better than anything ever... trust me... now you don't even have to pay for your dragons... you just turn some sideways... and more appear... like out of thin air... all your hard work has paid off and you can just sit back... with the satisfied look of 55 year old truck driver who just won bingo and is at home eating grapefruit in socks and watching Maury.life is good.
Xenagos, the Reveler
he does the heavy lifting for this deck... gotta say, whether he's chump blocking or dumping your turn 5 hell kite... he has some bang in his buck. sometimes its hard to know when to make a chump or plus one him... but if you do land him and bring him to ultimate... you just win... your opponent will untap and then enter their scoop phase... and you'll be sitting there happier than a pig in shit with all your creatures... smug little chump...
anyways, I'm pretty happy with this deck... its fun and yea, just boom. also i used the word dope in the description so that was pretty dope...
this deck is flavourful and extremely fun.steal it and tell your friends you thought of it!
