Enchantment (3)

Creature (5)

Unknown (3)

  • 3x Rootborn Defense

So this deck transgressed out of Selesnya Troll Beatdown which was my previous deck. I really liked Lotleth Troll but felt the deck itself lacked a little cohesion and board control so after testing around with cards and still trying to stick to Selesnya, I decided for abusing Selesnya creatures like I was previously doing but combining it with Brave the Elements this time, resulting in a faster deck with only two colors and more board control/evasion through protection instants and exiles.

Creatures

Brimaz, King of Oreskos - my best card overall in deck, Vigilance allows me to be defensive and offensive and he comes out relatively quickly. The additional tokens just adds to the aggression of the deck.

Voice of Resurgence - tied for best card in the deck with Brimaz, great vs control and destruction/burn decks, forces players to cast most of their spells on their own turn and can keep on going after it dies (and probably even stronger)

Experiment One and Soldier of the Pantheon - the staple of my early game aggression, has limited useful bonuses but mostly in deck for cheap aggression for 1-mana. Experiment One also has the added bonus of being able to regenerate, giving me mainboard resilience vs board wipes.

Fleecemane Lion and Loxodon Smiter - like the 1-mana drop creatures, this forms the foundation of this decks early game aggression by being cheaper for what you get stat-wise. Fleecemane Lion has additional potential for later in game.

Daring Skyjek - the biggest part of this card is its 3 power for 2 mana and its flying when attacking with 2 others, which is easy because of the aggressive nature of the deck.

Banisher Priest - combined with Selesnya Charm forms the crux of the board control to get in more damage early and keeping opponent's creatures out of the game as long as possible.

Spells

Brave the Elements - part of the main theme of this deck, this helps protect my creatures and keeps them on the board early game if the opponent chooses to spend his early turns trying to remove, otherwise great for finishing by getting creatures through for free

Selesnya Charm - this card primarily is placed for the exile on power 5 or greater creatures since those creatures will be the biggest problem for my deck but synergies well with my creatures especially to protect them from burn or help get them through. The token ability would be more for desperate blocks or counter to sac effects like Devour Flesh.

Advent of the Wurm - instant 5/5 creature with trample, that's pretty much enough said, great for surprise blocks and also trampling over most other creatures the following turn, important in deck due to it being a non-white creature in cases of pro-white and pro-multicolor issues. Can also function great with Rootborn Defense from sideboard.

Updates Add

Mainboard -2 Loxodon Smiter, +2 Boon Satyr

I felt Loxodon Smiter's usefulness was fairly limited and its effects barely (if ever) really came into to play. Even though 3 for a 4/4 is good, I felt he was only really good for in conjunction with Brave the Elements to squeeze in an extra 4 damage. However, I feel Boon Satyr by itself can sneak by 4 damage and has the added benefit of being a flash creature/aura. The bestow also gives me more limited resilience to effects such as Supreme Verdict.

Even though this reduces the amount of cards that my Brave is able to effect down to a total of 24 possible white creatures, I feel I still have enough to keep Brave in my mainboard, for now, until I do further testing. Boon Satyr standalone is a better card than Loxodon Smiter and fills pretty much the same role/gap that Smiter leaves behind.
