First FNM with this deck (at Goblin Hero Store, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

3-1-0

1st Match 2-1 vs Whiteweenie

2nd Match 1-2 vs Izzet Ensoul

3rd March 2-1 vs Izzet Phoenix

4th Match 2-0 vs Izzet Pyromancer

I was put against all three Izzet decks in the venue (there was 19 players), and it was a rollercoaster.

UR Pyro didn't have a chance, to the point that my opponent was so frustrated with his deck that he's building another one. While I still think he could have a better result against me, his deck wasn't well prepared and he was legitimately tilted.

Izzet Phoenix gave me some trouble: I lost the first game but it was very close. The second game I sideboarded 3 copies of Deafening Silence and 2 copies of Remorseful Cleric. Turn 1, I played a land and Deafening Silence, and I won the game on that point, because that threw a wrench on my opponent's deck. Third game he had to ask for two Mulligans, and I had one of the best hands I could.

Izzet Ensoul was a nightmare. He seemed to draw every card he needed at all times in all three games. Game 2 I managed to kill him on turn 5 because Deputy of Detention removed both his 5/5/ thopters, and lacking any flying creatures, he had no choice but to eat a ton of damage. Game 3 I couldn't even see what hit me. He sideboarded some removals and counters and I couldn't do much.

Whiteweenie was fun to play. Two aggro decks against each other, and I didn't know his deck very well so I was always guessing what could he do. He seemed confused about how big my spirits were and how big they could get, which led to my opponent choosing to attack me thinking I wouldn't have lethal next turn, but Mausoleum Wanderer bigger than he expected after I played Collected Company for an Empyrean Eagle and a Supreme Phantom at the beginning of my attack phase.

Overall, it was a cool experience, but I feel like I need to play against other decks. There's a UW Control (last place at this event) and a UR Dragons mid-range that I want to see if I can have a good match against them. I honestly think the Gruul Aggro deck can be a problem, and the GW Hardened Scales will be a legitimate problem because I can already see that Ballista killing my creatures like crazy.
