First Deck Tech

Alright so here is what we are looking at with my FIrst Deck Tech of BUG Infect.

Lands

Breeding Pool and Overgrown Tomb are the lands you are going to want the most. With roughly 50 percent of the spells being green you will need to have constant green sources. and depending on what is in your hand you only need to splash the Black and Blue.

The reason there are so many fetches are for 2 Reasons1. We have 3 Breeding Pool and 3 Overgrown Tomb we can get with the fetches and able to grab either one is Amazing so easy to fix your mana for a turn 4 win.2. They can help you fill your graveyard incase you run across your one copy of Become Immense but more on that later.

Inkmoth Nexus is just too good for this deck to pass by... if you don't have a actual creature on the field or in your hand this guy turns into a 1/1 flier with infect. there is no reason you shouldnt be able to do at least 1 infect on turn 2 and more by turn 3.

The one of copies of Island and Forest are here in case you run against a situation where you need one or the other and dont want to take the extra 2 damage from bringing in a dual land untapped.

Creatures Glistener Elf he is your opener to try and sneak in with a n infect point on turn 2 while your opponent most likely has a tapped land or uses a removal spell on this little guy. He isn't your game winner (not to say he can't win you the game)

Blighted Agent here is your all star. this guy is crazy good and the reason any infect player should splash Blue. you get him out on the field during the field during turn 2 and your opponent can't deal with it with all the pumps we have coming up you'll see why it's bad.

Ichorclaw Myr here is another really good card. he will deal an infect point more times than not when attacking because you're opponent wont want to block him and let him pump up and stay alive if blocked by anything smaller than a 3/3. USE THAT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE! if you attack with both him and a Glistener Elf the elf will more than likely be blocked and the Myr can just get pumped up enough to deal next to if not lethal on turn 3.

Spellskite is only one of two mainboard sources of protection. you're going to want to tap all out on turn 4 to pump up guys and win with the infect rule so being able to save your infect givers for only paying 2 life in order to win is amazing!

InstantsGroundswell with all the fetches in the deck you are always going to trigger the landfall so for 1 mana giving your creature +4/+4 is amazing! you play 2 of these on turn 3 on your Blighted Agent you could very well win right then and there if you got in on turn 2 with a Glistener Elf on turn 2 or some of the other synergy of pumps.

Mutagenic Growth Is an instant that can really help you out on turn 2 with pumping a Glistener Elf after playing some other pumps or if you used a mana to turn Inkmoth into a creature and attack with him. paying 2 life to sneak in 3 or more Infect counters is well worth the trade off.

Vines of Vastwood is so good at any point of the game. early on when you only have a Green mana to spare he is a protection spell plain and simple it keeps your creature on the field. when you have 2 mana it gets so much better... giving it hexproof and +4/+4 i don't even understand how this card is common but hey thats better for us!

Become Immense this is a 1 of for a reason. between the Fetch lands and instants / sorcerys used on turns 2 and 3 there should be no reason it should cost you more than a lone green mana and with the rise of that Amulet of Vigor + Primeval Titan deck you're 1/1 infect is now able to kill the Titan. On the other hand if you swing with 2 or 3 creatures and one isn't blocked on turn 4 dealing 7 infect counters should win you the game.

Sorcery SpellsDistortion Strike Here we have most likely my favorite spell in the deck. this enables you glistener elf to deal 2 unblokable damage (at least) on turn 2 and with rebound can do it all over again on turn 3 plus any other pumps you draw into! I cannot tell you how much i love the mechanic of Rebound... (almost as much as I miss Split Second)

Inquisition of Kozilek our only main board Black spell. but It is so good with most of the decks people use in modern having mainly 3 or less converted mana cards it serves as Removal or Protection! so good in modern (or Tiny Leaders).

Side BoardAbrupt Decay for a deck like Mono Red Goblins that just build too fast you can't get through.

Ranger's Guile a second form or Vines of Vastwood protection and pumping for +1/+1

Mana Leak combo decks plain and simple. there are a lot of differant ones out there, all of them need all their mana. this can save you a lot of despair on turn 4.

Phyrexian Crusader This guy.. first strike and infect is Almost as good as First strike and deathtouch. With a Rise in BW tokens and Splintertwin this guy can get in and stay in for a few turns and it's hard for them to deal with.

There are so many ways to win on turn 4 and even turn 3 it's amazing. but the key thing you need to look at is your opening hand. 2 creatures is key maybe even 1 if you have Inkmoth Nexus. 2 pumps or protection spells and 3 lands. this is what you are looking for. you can survive on 2 lands and 3 pump spells as well so don't be afraid to try it out!
