this is a tempo/midrange deck based on out valuing and out tempoing our opponents. while we win through combat damage, our clock is slower than most tempo decks so we have to bury our opponents in card advantage if we want to win. what we lack in efficiency (1 cmc beaters/cheating on mana costs with delve), we make up for in 2 for 1 trades or 1 for 1 trades with tempo advantages. all of our creatures draw cards, make the opponent ditch cards, counter spells, or even enable combat tricks as they come into play. Ideally, this leads to a late game where we have a swarm of faeries and our opponents are hellbent.
while this may not be quite as competitive as the tier 1 UB Delver, it's a lot of fun and i think it can certainly play with the big boys of pauper if you manage to prevent an arc lightning from ever resolving against you, which is certainly possible with our countermagic suite. in addition, you get to say you play faeries as opposed UB Delver, giving you a degree of magic hipster cred, and in the end, isn't hipster cred all that really matters?
SIDEBOARD:
Dispel - do they play blue?
Snuff Out - large, nonblack creatures gotcha down?
Faerie Macabre - do they run graveyard shenanigans? (went this over relic for flavor ofc)
PSmoke/Thornwind - do they run a lot of 1 toughness creatures? goblins/elves?
Weatherseed Faeries - do they run a lot of red/is their removal red?
