I think you need to be running a few more defenders to make Axebane worthwhile, but he would definitely allow you to run a 5 Colour deck if you do so.

Some suggested cards Prophetic Prism , Realmwright , Nylea's Presence , Unknown Shores , Traveler's Amulet , Guardians of Meletis

Thanks for the feedback! Generally the Overgrown Battlements work pretty well with the Axebanes. Just one of each of them and I already have 4 colors covered generally and possibly 5 if I have Ziggurat, Grotto or Necropolis out.

Most 5-color decks I know of play Chromatic Lantern for mana fixing. It would also help with Fist of Suns .

Other than that, this looks awesome.

@flyguy Thanks. Will drop the Fauna Shaman and add Joiner Adept for mana fixing. More useful then tutoring at the expense of a creature and the turn.

@dismay Thanks! That will work!

Thanks for the feedback all.

Is there a reason you'd rather be running Joiner Adept than Birds of Paradise or Deathrite Shaman ?

UrbanAnathema says... #8

@dismay Yes. I don't really have a shortage of multi color mana producers. With a Axebane Guardian and Sylvan Caryatid on the field I have three of any color...with 14 of my lands being able to provide black and 13 can provide green its fairly easy to get 5 colors available. The main fixing of my lands is more valuable to me than another single creature that can produce mana. (Particularly one that doesn't interact with the defender ramp.)

Where is the Omniscience ? This deck essentially is what it's calling for, and once you play it with fist of the suns then you can play your whole deck onto the field. You need at least 2 of them

@kyle Freed from the Real on an Axebane with another defender provides infinite mana in whatever's color combo I want. No need for Omniscience .

Do you have any way to draw cards? Because it lacks card draw apart from the Enter the Infinite

November 3, 2013 12:31 p.m.

UrbanAnathema says... #13

@kyle Other than Primeval Titans for land search and drop not really. The good thing is that the defenders come out quick and having 2 of any combo of Axebane Guardian or Overgrown Battlement gives me 6 mana at minimum and allows me to cast pretty much anything in the deck. 1/6 of the deck devoted to mana producing defenders. The only five color aspect of it is a means of cheating out the two giant creatures and Enter the Infinite within turn 4-6.

Sphinx's Revelation ? it would be a perfect fit in this deck.

UrbanAnathema says... #16

@kyle That's a great idea! I would likely have to lose the Smiters but it may well be worth it. Thanks for the suggestion!

November 4, 2013 1:38 p.m.

kyle_mit says... #17

actually, losing a Withstand Death , as well as Tragic Slip for 2 revelation. If you want to protect yourself from bigger threats, then consider adding counterspells of some sort. Also Chromatic Lantern instead of the Joiner Adept because it offers a mana rock as well as perfect mana.

Blue Sun's Zenith might be a better choice because it can allow me to draw cards as well as combo with infinite mana to instantly mill opponent's deck to zero cards. Would also be significantly cheaper...

November 4, 2013 2:44 p.m.

Omniscience + Enter the Infinite , not sure why omni's not in here it would help a lot, and speed things up once you get infinite mana.

Queezleish says... #20

I would drop the smiter and nighthawk since you would rather cast defenders early and late game they wont do much.

November 4, 2013 5:26 p.m.

UrbanAnathema says... #21

What is the point of Omniscience if I have unlimited mana in all five colors? I can cast whatever I want anyway.

November 4, 2013 8:07 p.m.

kyle_mit says... #22

What's the point of calling it an Omni deck, when Omniscience isn't in here? And it's simply easier to get out and do shit when it gets going. plus you can just simply run that instead of a combo that can be shutdown.

November 4, 2013 8:23 p.m.

UrbanAnathema says... #23

@kyle From a flavor standpoint I could agree with you and when I first designed this deck Omniscience was included. But it's value in this deck is really as a combo with Enter the Infinite . So either way...you're talking about a combo. If that's the case I think that its far more likely that the 3cmc card is easier to combo with than the 10cmc card.

Really like the way that this looks.

Your infinite mana combo with Axebane Guardian and Freed from the Real is right up my alley! May steal that for a commander deck I'm trying to throw together.

I'll link you if I get something worked out. Lots of the cards you're using here fit the "Omnipotence" theme really well! Depending on how omnipotent you're trying to be, you might want to try Research and/or Mirror of Fate . :)

November 14, 2013 2:25 p.m.

UrbanAnathema says... #25

Thanks! Research would add a truly god-like capacity to the deck! This deck can be vulnerable to board wipe and so needs to run the Golgari Charm and Mana Leak to ward off that potential threat. Try to incorporate as many versatile solutions as I can.

Thanks for the feedback and the +1 and please feel free to gather any inspiration for your builds. :)
