"Dragon" Tempest

Sideboard

This is a deck I've run for a while focused on Dragon Tempest. It uses the very cost friendly Slumbering Dragon as a trigger, but is matched with Mothdust Changeling. These alongside Mutavault make for high X counts on Tempest accessible. Saheeli is to make copies of Thunderbreak, or any dragon for its etb. Shapesharer can use its ability to make copies of Thunderbreak in response to spells. Metallic Mimic is a great dragon and a prime target to copy before playing a string of other small dragons. Essence Flux is for both protecting creatures and cheap etb triggers at instant speed for removal. Essense flux is also an interesting pair with shapeshifters, as they will enter with a +1/+1 counter for being a spirit, and also get a +1/+1 counter for being a dragon (from Mimic) Muddle for Tempest, or a Twinflame so you can make 2+ copies for 5+ mana. (Example: T1: Slumbering DragonT2: Dragon TempestT3: Mothdust(2 dmg)+Slumbering(3dmg)+Mothdust(4dmg) T4: Thunderbreak (5 dmg)T5: Twinflame a copies of Thunderbreak+Mothdust (6dmg + 6 dmg) for lethal

This deck isn't super fast, but if you can land an early Tempest, it tends to stabilize well. The one drop dragons triggering Tempest puts Impact Tremors to shame- plus you can send the Tempest damage at creatures (if you're not already on track to kill with direct damage on a faster clock)
