I know phyrexian mana is not on Zendikar, but I wanted to make it cost 3 more to cast spells and also keep things from getting boring.

Red/White spells such as Lightning Helix , Warleader's Helix , and Brightflame WILL trigger FS/SS twice. Gaining life from lifelink damage is one lifegain event, triggering FS/SS. Gaining life from the instructions on the spell is a second lifegain event. FS/SS triggers twice.

A Guttersnipe or two could be good. Brightflame could be extremely useful against mono-colored decks.

Boros is my favorite Guild too! Radiance is intriguing but too clunky... been trying to get Brightflame to work in EDH with little success.

Battalion on the other hand is fantastic! It serves its purpose well as the definition of what the color pair wants to do. That said, hopefully they'll expand on what Boros can do in the future.

I look forward to Ravnica III for more Boros!

Specifically I'm looking at the interaction between Firesong and Sunspeaker and Brightflame.

Let's pose a scenario where I target a creature with Brightflame for X=3, and there are 4 other creatures in play that share a color with the creature I targeted. So I will be dealing 3 life linking damage to 5 creatures for a total of 15 damage, and the spell also instructs me to gain life equal to the damage, so gain 15 life.

However, my question is when the spell resolves have I gained 3 life 5 times and 15 life once for a total of 6 3-damage triggers from Firesong and Sunspeaker or did I gain 15 life twice for two 3-damage triggers?

for me, i would drop the creatures that do not directly forward the spell casting madness, such as Serra Ascendant. Some mana doubling would be good, def need more draw, basically all the wheels. Some Past in Flames action, shit to put on Isochron Scepter. probably more storm type cards than the huge X spells. Seems a continual stream of BS like Lightning Helix would be good. But then there's Star of Extinction and Brightflame ... Basically i am very confused is what i am saying :)
