Help beating walking ballista!!

I need help beating a deck built around walking ballista. It is so consistent and fast that none of my decks can really get around it.
I recently picked up burning tree shaman and am wondering if there are any other cards that work like this. Also are any of you running a similar deck does it seem to work well?

He has a lot of things to add counters and then if you target it or kill it he removes all the counters and hits you with the damage

What format are you playing in? What deck are you playing?

Fatal Push will kill it every time. Also, Abrupt Decay will get rid of it. Silkwrap, Journey to Nowhere, Doom Blade, good old Murder, Surgical Extraction
to rip it out of his deck once it's in the graveyard, Nevermore, Pongify, Beast Within, Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, Condemn, hell, even Jester's Cap will get rid of 3 of them, or you can use it to grab one, Surgical Extraction that copy for the other 3, then grab 2 other cards from his deck and possibly ruin his backup plans with yet another Surgical Extraction or simply by removing his alternate win-cons. If you want to be ridiculous, which I highly encourage, flash in Ambush Viper to kill it.
Basically, if his deck revolves around Walking Ballista, kill all of them. That's how you get around it

Just a tip, but you can link any card using two sets of brackets.
Also, there are multiple options based on the format and the color. If we're talking Modern, any red burn spell like Lightning Bolt should be able to stop it. There are also cards that remove counters, such as Vampire Hexmage. In short, there are multiple ways to get rid of it.
