Budget Formatless Decks

Hello everyone.

Me and my friends are trying to build ultra-budget formatless decks to play "competitively" against each other. The restriction is it cant be more expensive (based on a particular website min. price) than 15 dollars.

I started sketching some decks online based on strong cards that are also cheap or banned in other formats. For example i could use Ponder and Brainstorm and even Treasure Cruise and Hymn to Tourach .

i came up with this:

1 - UR Spells shell deck, using Thermo-Alchemist and Electrostatic Field together with Curiosity and cheap shocks/bolts, cantrips. Link -> UR Spells

2- Monoblack shell with discards, Smallpox , Pox , Shrieking Affliction and The Rack Link -> Budget Smallpox

3- UR Shell with Kiln Fiend and Nivix Cyclops Strategy. Link -> UR Kiln Fiend

4- Infect based, since we have acess to Invigorate , but the list seems too fragile and slow without room for Mutagenic Growth , even running BS and Ponder.

do you guys have any cool ideas for decks that i can come up with that are strong and fast, or maybe some weird control or combo deck would be nice too. Id like some kind of Balance deck xD

While those are basically pauper decks that have some more expensive cards taken out of them, I think they will work.

The most powerful card that is banned in several formats, yet cheap are Cloudpost and Glimmerpost . Take a look at pauper decks when those cards were not banned and try to update them within the budget.

Curiously enough, storm should be pretty easy to assemble in this format - sure, you do not get to play Manamorphose , but most anything else is fair game. Sacland or depletion land storm ( Dwarven Ruins and friends or Sandstone Needle and friends) and Temporal Fissure storm should be both easy to make and obnoxious.

Chaphalid Breakfast should be cheap.

PO storm variants could be fun.

Check outsome Restore Balance decks, they could give you an idea for Balance .

A black storm variant seems like your best bet so far.

Maybe you could make a vinestorm deck?

I don't know how expensive it would be, but most eggs are cheap and the Second Sunrise / Faith's Reward got some serious results before it was banned.
