Who knows the biggest and meanest of the Grixis instants and sorceries?

I'm considering how Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge is, in theory, the grixis spell-version of Kaalia of the Vast .

I'm not sure how big or splashy my spells should be for the deck..or what spells to include for that matter.

Kaalia wins with threats that stay on the board. What spells make you threat-worthy with a paltry 1/3 ?

Army of the Damned is pretty scary, as is Cruel Ultimatum as mentioned above.

Well I would be really scared of the creature if it had a few of these cards under it because the deck is probably build around using it.

Beacon of Tomorrows , Time Stretch , Temporal Extortion , Final Fortune , Obliterate , Decree of Pain and Windfall .

I'm not too keen on running "take an extra turn" spells. Lest i get hated out of the group. Don't exactly run Windfall but Whispering Madness does the trick very well...

a fair few of those spells are already in the deck with jeleva in. I'm trying to figure out some of the more obscure ones like Blood Feud , Skull Rend and Wit's End . The last one probably WILL get me hated out of the group though... not the best examples either...

Promise of Power is probably a better one to exemplify

Since Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge isn't tap x don't you only exile 4 cards from each library?

Remember the commander "tax". Every time she dies, she goes to the Command Zone and gets more expensive to cast. 1 death = 6 mana to cast her. 2 deaths = 8 mana and so on.

Oh she is only used in commander? I have only been playing standard and briefly tapping into modern.

She's only printed in a Commander preconstructed deck. She should be legal in Legacy, but I highly doubt people will try to play her there.

Magiclover318 in commander, each time you cast your commander it costs 2 more to cast so it will start at 4, then go to 6, then 8, etc. As for the spells, Hex and Plague Wind would be good. Here is a gatherer link to some of the most expensive spells in your colors.

There's also Alpha Brawl , Devastation , and Destructive Force .Mindblaze could be fun since the number will always be 1. Spinal Embrace is fun, Slave of Bolas is similar, and also fun. Cultural Exchange would be hilarious in EDH (assuming you play with more than 2.)

Also, there's Blatant Thievery .

I'd go with Denying Wind though, personally. Because I prefer to be proactive in my threat-removal.

Bribery and Blatant Theivery are some of the most annoying edh cards. always recommend that!
