Immortalys on Cards that exile Libraries in …

For my Circu, Dimir Lobotomist deck I am looking for cards that selectively pick apart my opponents decks. Think of cards Extract, Sadistic Sacrament and Denying Wind. The idea is to make a "mill" deck, but without having to actually mill all the cards, just my opponents wincons, and to have the "milled" cards go to exile to stop those nasty graveyard decks. They can't win with a deck full of lands, ramp and card draw after all, so why put effort into milling/exiling those cards? If there are very few cards like that, I will also accept cards like Life's Finale that don't exile but do search, Umbris, Fear Manifest that don't search but do exile, and/or cards that double up the existing effects like Lithoform Engine.

As a bonus, cards that trigger when an opponent shuffles their library like Psychic Surgery are also very welcome.

Kapitein_Koekblik Congrats, 3W-1L is pretty awesome results there. Narset was the original "Top Deck Wins" commander so she's pretty hard to beat once the stars are aligned for her.

Pretty smart move to swap in Denying Wind to adjust to the meta. You can also consider Sadistic Sacrament if the meta is Combo heavy, since sometimes, 3 cards is all it takes to shut down a combo deck and 15 cards is just icing on the cake. Misdirection is simply wicked there, great job!

I tend to agree with you about Timetwister. This deck is tutor heavy but lacks card draw engines. I did run some card draws in my earliest version of this deck but has since removed them, e.g. Overflowing Insight, as drawing more cards don't win me the games, tutoring for the right card(s) does.

Looking forward to your updates! Good luck with the games!

Cloudius went 3W-1L today. Switched some cards at the last moment after checking out the competition. Out of the 16 people there I noticed that at least 5 played with an alternative wincon deck, so I swapped out Jace for Commandeer and Dimir Machinations for Denying Wind. I know Denying Wind sounds janky but it really did a number on 2 people in those 4 rounds, killing their combo's and removing their wincons. It basically left them with a dead pile of cards and they were sitting ducks from that point onward. Them complaining after that Denying Wind should be banned was icing on the cake. I wouldn't play it other wise to be fair, at a certain point I had it in my starting hand and if I didn't have a Scroll Rack to go with it I would have mulliganed. Won twice with Approach of the Second Sun (feels good man) and once with Misdirection redirecting a 25 mana Fireball that was aimed towards me to another player with low HP and then killing the last guy with commander damage and extra turns galore. The last round was undo-able seeing one guy went infinite with his Narset, Enlightened Master on turn 5 and no one could do anything anymore at that point.

All in all, works great! Still needs some tuning here and there, but it also depends on what people are playing. Was looking into maybe putting Timetwister in their but I get the feeling I give my opponents more answers to the cards I'm going to play.

Will try to update you if I find something out.

If you have Narset in your playgroup, and it is running sorcs and instants (I guess thats why you run Talent of the Telepath), I suggest adding copyspells (best of which are Reiterate and Wild Ricochet, but Increasing Vengeance and Reverberate with Fork are fine too due to mana cost).

Also, if you want to break Narset, see cards like Denying Wind and Extract, which can simply remove combo pieces from library. Also Grinning Totem

laserdisque,

Boundless Realms was added to help me thin out the deck, for when I couldn't get the infinite mana combos to go online, but I needed to thin out my deck. Having played both with it and against it, I can say that it gets ridiculous with Fork effects and a field full of basics!

Survival of the Fittest is appealing, albeit difficult (for me) to find. Fauna Shaman crossed my mind as an alternative that was easier to find (both for purchase, and in terms of tutoring).

Denying Wind was added as a response to my local meta, which features a lot of combo-heavy decks (hence how this little monster came to be...). Jester's Cap is an alternative I hadn't considered, but I'm more hesitant to add it, due to its inability to be copied by Riku, and lack of artifact tutoring in the current list.

Thank you for your suggestions! Nice to see that this is getting so much feedback!

Since you already have infinite mana combos in the deck perhaps you could cut Boundless Realms. Survival of the Fittest would be a good addition. Denying Wind seems a bit mana intensive as well. What about Jester's Cap?
