My mission: to create a deck based around each planeswalker in the game. Not all will be original, not all will be tournament worthy, but all will hopefully be fun and interesting. I call it my "Walk The Walk" series.

So far we've covered Venser (WtW 1: Sojourning Savant), Nicol Bolas (WtW 2: Respect Your Elder), Ajani (WtW 3: Heart (& Soul) of Gold), Chandra (WtW 4: She'll Bring The Heat), Liliana (WtW 5: This Might Hurt...A Lot), Garruk (WtW 6: A Beast of a Man), Jace (WtW 7: Mind (and Deck) Tricks), Elspeth (WtW 8: Champion of the Masses), and most recently Sarkhan (WtW 9: The Dragon Master). That means there is only one 'walker left that has two different incarnations in the game that I have not yet covered. So without further ado, I present my first-ever Tezzeret the Seeker deck.

I've created this deck without researching other Tezz decks, so my apologies if it's like a dozen other decks out there. But I wanted to use an abuse his his and second abilities especially by going after artifacts that tap for powerful effects (and can then be untapped by Tezzeret's first ability) and also a goodly number of 0-cost artifacts (to make his second ability fetch them for free).

Well, I ended up going big on one and selective on the other, but they both play into each other. The only 0-cost artifacts I ended up using are mana generators Lotus Bloom and Everflowing Chalice. The latter ended up driving the rest of the deck. How? Well, I didn't want to have to pay extra mana when I play it to put counters on it. So how do you get around that? Add charge counters through other means, of course. Thankfully there are plenty of ways: Energy Chamber and Vedalken Infuser do it on each of your turns and Coretapper does it by tapping. Hey, didn't we say something about untapping tapped artifacts earlier? Why yes we did...Tezzeret's first ability does just that, as does Voltaic Key .

So that's a nice core, but we're not really DOING much yet except generating mana. So let's make things interesting. How about using charge counters to make 9/9 Golem creatures? There's an app for that, and it's called Titan Forge. How about blowing up the opponent's permanents? Say hello to Lux Cannon, powered by charge counters. You can add counters to either of them from the other cards mentioned above OR they can tap to add their own tokens...then be untapped with Tezz and the Keys. (Sounds like an 80s band!)

We're still a little short on creatures, though. That's okay: Myr Propagator can tap (and then be untapped and tap again) to copy itself, making for swarms of Myr to defend or attack en masse. And Steel Overseer can boost any creature in the deck except the Infusers...and of course, be untapped and re-tap for double the effect.

Finally come the lands. First you've got eight artifact lands, which Tezz can pull for free if you need them. (Woohoo for lands having a CMC of 0!) The Nexuses can make some little flying Blinkmoths, and boost them to make for a nasty surprise for the opponent. And finally, Academy Ruins can pull back artifacts from the grave.

As to how this would actually play out: stall until you're able to beef your creatures (or just crank out a few 9/9 Golems), blow the biggest blockers up with your Lux Cannons, and swing away. If that's not doing it, you can always trigger Tezzeret's final ability and turn all those leftover artifacts into 5/5 creatures and swarm over whatever's left defending. Nothing like overwhelming the opponent with a bunch of Chalices and Keys. Mwaha! >:D

I thought a card as promising as Tezzeret would be easier to build a deck around. Maybe I'm overthinking it? Any and all would be appreciated. Any tips?
