Whats the synergy with Scheming Symmetry ? i know theres some shenanigans you can pull with it like put the card they chose to the bottom of their deck but i cant think of what the combo is.

WUBRG87, you can pair it with Psychotic Episode to force whatever they tutored straight to the bottom of their library.

It's not an optimal tutor, but it's low cost and if you're playing in a 4 person pod you can potentially use it to sway politics and table power dynamics.

I think you're too light on lands. 31 lands including a false temple which does nothing for you, I don't think that's enough. And Commander's Sphere? too slow. Replace both of those with basics then add 5 more basics.

smack80 I was already considering cutting the temple, but I disagree with needing to have 36 lands in this deck. In fact many other decks I've looked at since completing mine run 27.

Plus the Commander's Sphere is only staying in until Arcane Signet comes out.

cEDH decks run 30 lands becuase they have the money for mana crypt and moxes. If your goal is to discard and draw, then at least try the Cycling lands.

Your commander costs 3 so mana rocks that cost 2 don't accelerate your gameplan. Casting a mana rock on 2 then casting your commander on 3 doesn't make you any faster. Having 5 mana on turn 4 doesnt' really do anything special for you. You might as well just have another land in place of those rocks. If you want a mana rock that gets Anje out faster but is budget, try Jeweled Amulet . I play it in Xantcha. A turn 1 Jeweled Amulet gets out Anje on turn 2. Many times it is a good as Sol Ring. Being a worse sol ring doesn't make it a bad magic card. Blood Pet serves teh same purpose of speeding up casting Anje.

Things like Twins of Maurer Estates are just bad cards. Sure they let you untap your commander when you discard them, but wouldn't you rather just have drawn a better card instead?

I don't see this deck ever re-casting Anje if she leaves the field.

I am not positive but about the Worldgorger Dragon combo: From what I have read I think your spells have to either be instant speed, or you have to have another creature in your grave that you can target with Animate Dead when you want your infinite to stop. Otherwise it will keep repeating and wont be able to break in with a sorcery speed spell.

Might want to throw in something like Comet Storm or Fall of the Titans just for the instant speed hit. as long as there is another creature in your grave it doesnt matter, but might be something to consider.

Also in reference to the lands issue, I was referring to other budget cEDH decks I've been seeing since my own deck. I am adding a couple of lands and swapping out most of the rocks as you suggested, so we shall see how that does.

Hybrow, if I recall correctly the combo can be interrupted by having a different creature in your graveyard as well to target with the Animate Dead during a loop (obviously not perfect, but a solution). But I will swap in the Comet Storm as a cheaper instant speed replacement for Torment of Hailfire .

If you're doing Animate dead and necromancy for worldgorger, you should round out the trifecta with Dance of the Dead . It works the same way.

I'm not sure what the point of Doomed Necromancer is, it doesn't help the combo. To sped out the combo use Corpse Connoisseur and Buried Alive ; they're both cheap. If you want to speed Worldgorger into the graveyard you could also try Dredge cards.

I also like Unearth for 3 cmc commanders as it lets me recast for 1 instead of 5 and it cycles.

I was already planning on throwing in Dance of the Dead eventually, so I'll just put that in there now in the place of the Doomed Necromancer . He was in there just for general reanimation purposes, not specifically for the combo. As I say in my description, this deck is mean to be more than just the one combo.

I did throw back in Buried Alive , I had cut it earlier in favor of a more direct tutor. I am always in favor of including Unearth in any deck possible, so that works for me.

Shadow of the Grave to pick up everything you discarded on your turn and draw for more stuff.
