I would replace all of the Reflecting Pool s with Gemstone Mine s. You shouldn't need to activate a land more than 3 times, and getting stuck with a Reflecting Pool as the only land might be an issue.

I second that, tkjanacek. I run 4x Gemstone Mine in my Sliver Deck and i don't have any problems although is not as fast as this here.
July 21, 2014 2:58 p.m.
@tkjanacek - Took your advice, going to test out Gemstone Mine instead of Reflecting Pool for a while. I have had good success rate with Reflecting Pool but there is 1 game in 20 where my opening hand only has a Reflecting Pool and Ancient Ziggurat so I'm unable to play the AEther Vial in my opening hand. It's super rare, but I'll test out Gemstone Mine to see if it removes that problem and doesn't bring in any of its own.

I think the Aether Vial is a touch of genius, it really turns the deck aggro, which is what I felt was the sliver decks' weakness. If the P9 ever get unbanned from Legacy I would love to see some Moxes in there.

Amoeboid Changeling + Sliver Overlord is great for any sliver deck

@CookieJedi - Fun combo, but much too slow for what I'm going for here.

You inspired me to make slivers. Good job. Now, might anyone have sliver legions, crystalline slivers, or any of this land for tradsies?? That would be super awesome. Pm me under my Eldrazi elf deck if u do. +1 from me!
July 30, 2014 10:47 p.m.
@tekman - I'm glad! I've loved Slivers since I first started playing Magic. I also have a Legacy Sliver Control deck that plays a bit more like a Merfolk deck, with some counters and removal. Slivers Just Got Smart. if you wanna check it out.

@enpeeduhbuhlyoo - AEther Vial does the same thing but 1000x better.
August 18, 2014 10:28 a.m.
Very solid deck. +1
However, I wonder if Manaweft Sliver is worth for main board since you have many 1 and 2 CMC slivers. so the ramp is not a great deal, not to mention that AEther Vial already fix your mana. Maybe sideboard for extra material agains Blood Moon and the like?
Did you tested Hibernation Sliver ? I always consider this sliver the next "staple sliver" in sliver decks after crystalline. I say this because he protects the hive from any form of removal and sweepers. Another plus is that he is a solid 2/2.
How Sidewinder Sliver is performing? Just for curiosity, because you replaced Plated Sliver and I really like this sliver. Making combat a nightmare and certain removal and sweepers useless is quite good
Thanks for sharing your deck, really serves for inspiration to build a sliver deck.

@Arcrom - I agree that Manaweft Sliver isn't the most aggressive sliver. If I take him out and replace him with Hibernation Sliver (which would definitely fit the slot), my deck would have better survivability but I would have to remove Sliver Legion , since Manaweft Sliver is the most reliable way to get him out. It may be worth it in the long run, I'd have to play test it a bit to know for sure.
I've been playtesting Sidewinder Sliver over Plated Sliver because its a lot more aggressive. It acts as a sliver lord if they block and if they don't then you just encouraged them to let you hit their life. It's not as good on the defensive, but so far I've liked it better since this is an aggro deck.
If you like slivers, I have another fun Legacy sliver build you can check out. Slivers Just Got Smart. is a bant sliver control deck I put together that plays very similar to Legacy merfolk. Its more competitive than this one, though this one is a blast to play as well.

For some reason, these mana slivers really bugs me, no metter how many times I try, they just slows me down, dies or are a terrible top-deck. They have a spot in combo or big mana sliver deck, but the latter is only casual level with 50% efficiency compared to aggro slivers.
Also, I'm kinda glad that you removed Sliver Legion , although I like this card, he has zero synergy here. 18 lands and vial hates him.
I have to admit, Sidewinder Sliver is pretty good,
Does Heart Sliver really needed here? You can always vial your slivers ETB. so they have a pseudo haste. I wound prefer to run Ponder or Brainstorm .

My deck is probably a hybrid between this one and your Sliver Control. It's a GUwr, so just a few things I've done that have worked well for me:
I run 3x Green Sun's Zenith to tutor my green guys (lords + Harmonic mostly, sometimes a Manaweft).
I also run 4x Muddle the Mixture for more counter or to tutor up whatever other 2 drops I might be missing (Crystalline / Sinew / Heart / Talon / Winged).
I run a 2/1 split of Galerider and Winged. I do the same 2/1 with Striking and Talon. I feel that gives me a good balance of 1cmc slivers but also enabling me to transmute if I still need flying or first strike.
My mana base is: 4 City of Brass, 4 Treva's Ruins, 2 Cavern of Souls, 2 Sliver Hive, 4 Ghost Quarter, 3 Forest, and 3 Island. (I know, I'm poor)
I mainly say this to transition into talking about how well Ghost Quarter has worked for me. it has added enough versatility in my deck to more than make up for slight tempo loss that may happen depending on how you end up using it ... but 90% of the time I use it as a wasteland and at least 75% of those times it behaves just like one (they run no basics) ... all for less than 1/100 the $ investment.
It has saved me from a Blood Moon twice via destroying a non-basic for a Forest (if I didn't have one) before the moon resolves and next turn GSZ for a harmonic or manaweft with my Forest and 2-3 "Mountains".
It has also enabled me to cast a T1 vial, T2 city for white, then sac GQ + city to grab an Island to cast crystalline ... their turn vial in a plated to block a Vampire Lacerator with my now 2/3 and Daze their T2 cast of Goyf ... to then T3 vial in Predatory and cast Galerider with the Island I put back down.
August 28, 2014 6:14 a.m.
@Trumpet - My main concern with Ghost Quarter (or Wasteland for that matter) is that it would really screw up my mana base since I only run 18 lands. It's very common for me to have a starting hand with 2 mana or just 1 mana and and AEther Vial , depending on the rest of the hand. If even 1 of those 2 lands is a Ghost Quarter then it may mean that I won't be able to cast several of the cards in my hand. Mana base is also the reason I can't run Muddle the Mixture , since it's UU mana cost becomes difficult to cast, especially with Cavern of Souls and Ancient Ziggurat not being able to be used for it. I do really like your idea of Green Sun's Zenith though, I may try to find a way to work that in here.

Can you check my sliver deck. It's called Just a Sliver of cake. I'd like suggestions before I actually buy it.
September 17, 2014 8:58 p.m.
Most of the cards that is on this list is also on my sliver deck except I use 4x Manaweft Sliver , 1 Sliver Legion , 1 Sliver Hivelord , 4x Plated Sliver , 2x Bonescythe Sliver , 2x Reflecting Pool , and 3x Worldly Tutor instead of swan song since I can search for a offensive/ defensive (mostly offensive) sliver.

Your deck is only 59 cards. What's the last card?
September 29, 2014 8:58 p.m.
@DwighthVader - I haven't looked at this deck in a while, I had no idea it was missing a card! Threw in an extra land since 18 works usually, but it'll mean less mulligans.

you need to consider diffusion sliver. Amazing for mana leak and alternatively a good way to give your slivs some spell protection...
Saljen says... #1
@Chargingbadgerrrrrrrr - I chose to run Reflecting Pool and Ancient Ziggurat at 3 instead of 4 because neither of these lands can cast AEther Vial on turn 1. If I have AEther Vial in my opening hand, I want to cast it t1 every single time.
