Limited Resources deck for group play... Mostly 3-H and 2-H giant.
Goal is to get Limited Resources out as soon as possible, then follow up with a Rampant Growth or Sakura-Tribe Elder. Going first in 3 headed will basically limit the other team to one land. The Serum Powder were added to bypass mulligans, and try to get that opening hand.
Brushlands seemed to be the most effective dual-lands since they don't come in tapped, and the one damage is negligible early on.
Enlightened Tutor was added to give that extra chance to go find Limited Resources early on, and then go get Sword of the Animist later, or a mana-rock if desperate.
Land removal in the form of Fallow Earth, Winter's Grasp or Mwonvuli Acid-Moss are all useful for removing any lands they may have.
Swords to Plowshares serves as spot removal, but I'm wondering if I need a couple sweepers like Wrath of God in case I get a bad draw and fall behind.
Damage comes slow with this deck, as there aren't many creatures. Deeproot Wayfinder's surveil ability is super effective if the path is clear, otherwise its all on the Beanstalk Giant. In my playtesting, the opponents would likely scoop before he ever gets going, but I need some kind of finisher. Perhaps I take out a couple mana rocks and add another couple copies. Obviously, the Sword serves to ramp land, thin the deck and speed up damage.
This is really meant for 3-H early lockdown, but could be effective in 2-H as well. I doubt it works well 1v1, but we mostly play the other formats.
Initial thoughts: Do I need to add some protection such as Blacksmith's Skill or Surge of Salvation? If so, what should be removed?
I haven't really looked at {G}{W} spells yet either. There may be some mulits that would fit this deck well.
