Sultai Agrocombo Selfmill

Standard* BUG (Sultai)

nosferitis

This is a deck I tried building as I am a big fan of legacy dredge. It is made just to have fun but it actually netted me 3 wins in lgs tourney. The thought process behind the build is to self mill yourself aggressively in order to pressure the opponent while getting key combo pieces in the grave and either win by chipping away the enemy with Stitcher's Supplier + Glowspore Shaman + Gorging Vulture + Narcomoeba + Creeping Chill vs decks that try to set up or survive long enough by blocking and draining until you can combo off with Command the Dreadhorde + Jace, Wielder of Mysteries plus selfmill dorks.

Notable card utilities: Apart from their main use some cards have other implications as well.

Glowspore Shaman is a 2 drop that applies 3 power to our board while trying to mill Creeping Chill + Narcomoeba but can also be used sufficiently at later turns in order to make sure we hit our lands for our 4/5/6drops .

Gorging Vulture adds 2 evasive power ,mills 4 and can also net us some life. Remember we have minimal interaction and we have to protect our life so we can combo with Command the Dreadhorde

Creeping Chill + Narcomoeba now these cards, the pride of our deck. Depending on the match up, the timing we mill them, the number of them left in our deck lets us decide the line of our play on the go. A good turn 1 or 2 milling two of these have the potential to turn us into the aggressor even against match-ups where we were supposed to play the control role. It really depends on the experience of the player and luck. Keep in mind that both of those cards can be used agressively as well as defensively. Milling a Creeping Chill vs Monored agro is a huge deal. Imagine milling multiples.

Tamiyo, Collector of Tales is our dream 4drop and propably the best card in our deck under any circumstances, able to do everything we want to do. Milling ?You got it. Searching for combo piece? Tamiyo has it. Combo piece in grave? Missing land in grave? Tamiyo does it all ,even recurring herself in grindy matchups. It even gains us life as enemies will target her instead of us. Im considering running 4 if I get one.

Gruesome Menagerie a card that is heavily underplayed, few expect it and works great with ETB effects.Able to ressurect 3 of our mill dorks thus milling 10-11 cards while adding board pressence is great value and works towards both our goals . Being a sweeper insurance makes the card even greater. Plus it always feels so great playing it.

Jace, Wielder of Mysteries is rarely casted but rather brought back with Command the Dreadhorde in addition to mill dorks and Yarok, the Desecrated to mill ourselves for 20 plus and win on the spot with his plus 1. It doesnt feel great but its an ok drop at later stages of the game if we end up drawing it, its cost is rather steep though so it mostly ends up a dead card . The sole reason we run it is the combo and that is just enough.

Command the Dreadhorde is our finisher most of the times. Able to win the game on the spot by bringing back Jace, Wielder of Mysteries + Yarok, the Desecrated plus mill dorks for the win. It also has the potential to refill our board in order to pressure even further or in desperate times mill ourselves for lethal with Creeping Chill . Apart from the combo this card has many uses and interracts almost with every single other card in our deck. You just have to be aware of what is left in your deck , the chances of you hitting what you need and be brave enough to take some risks if the next turns seem bleak.

Yarok, the Desecrated one copy of this horror is enough in here. Its mostly used to double up the ETB mill triggers when brought back with our combo for a surprise kill. He doesnt net any value by himself but the fact that he has lifelink and doubles our mill makes our opponents respect it. Not a great 5 drop for sure, not bad either. Fits perfectly nonetheless.

The rest of the 4-5 spots are left on user discretion as they consist our interaction cards. It can be anything from Veil of Summer ,sweepers, you get the point. They depend on the meta you are playing against. Tips and ideas are hugely appreciated.

Disclaimer: this deck is far from competitive. With the print of Leyline of the Void and Grafdigger's Cage our strategy can be ruined on the spot with minimal cost, that doesnt mean we cant catch opponents off guard. Its one of the most fun decks ive played in standard and I recommend you try it.

If you have any tips for interaction cards, side boards or anything you believe im missing, please feel free to comment as I really want to make this list work at its optimal level.
