I've worked on this deck through the years mostly by playing and tweaking it against various friends. I always wanted to be able to create a massive army of soldiers and I feel that this deck achieves that pretty well. This is pretty slow for Boros, it is deceivingly a control deck at heart but it is capable of pulling out an early win if you hit a good tempo. The life gain is more of an after thought to help get a bit of a buffer incase you have a slow start against an aggro type deck. Timely Reinforcements is an amazing card that gives you a chance to come back from a bad start and gives you what you may need later in the game. Soul Warden is a 1 drop that needs to be addressed with removal by your opponent or she has the capability to make you unkillable in combination with the many token generating cards in the deck. The beauty of the token deck is that not any one card is significant so removal is not much of a threat to your overall strategy. Combo decks and control decks utilizing a lot of disruption in the form of counters or discard can have potential to cause this deck a lot of problems.

From my game experiences, this deck has always done very well. I have thought of bringing it to a modern night at a LGS. I am curious to see how it would do but given the meta of my friends I feel like the deck may be too slow against some established modern archetypes.
