I'm a despicable person that loves
Agent of Treachery
. As such, the new reanimation spells from MH2,
Persist
and
Unmarked Grave
, inspired me to immediately start brewing an Agent of Treachery Reanimator deck.
I know a lot of people immediately looked to
Archon of Cruelty
as a great target for
Persist
, but I actually think the Agent is better. First off, the swing is obviously greater when you put their creatures on your side of the battlefield, rather than just killing them. Second, if you manage the turn 2 Agent of Treachery (which is possible in this build), you can still steal lands or powerful artifacts from your opponents, effectively setting them back a whole turn.
This list isn't the most competitive list, because I don't have all the expensive lands and interactions personally. However, I think it could actually be a pretty good deck if you added fetchlands,
Snapcaster Mage
to get any
Persist
or
Unmarked Grave
the inadvertently get milled into the graveyard, and probably a sweet of addition interaction or cantrips. I'm not an experienced Modern player, so any advice is welcome, as I'd like to actually upgrade this deck in full eventually.
Finally, I'd love any advice on making a decent sideboard with this deck. This deck is all-in on the graveyard shenanigans, so I've thought about trying to build it in a way that could pivot game 2 or 3 if the opponents has graveyard hate. Ephemerate, Soulherder, and Agent of Treachery are already a decent shell for a control deck that out-values your opponent until the Agent can pop-off.
