I took this to my lgs and managed to get 1st place, going 3-0! Yeah, that surprised me, too!
I managed to pull a Sheoldred, the Apocalypse from a set booster when Dominaria United released, and I also pulled a Phyrexian Obliterator when Phyrexia All Will be One released. I've been wanting to make a fun deck with both and this is that deck! I managed to play test it with a friend and it's better than I thought. Misery's Shadow is way better than I anticipated, and Phyrexian Obliterator is also pretty solid. Knight of the Ebon Legion is still as good as I remember, and Bloodsoaked Champion is also pretty solid. I think it will be my "fun" deck to take to the local game store.
Of note, my lgs only gets 6-8 people for Pioneer night, and the meta is extremely aggro heavy. Hence the Fatal Pushes and the Dead Weights-- yeah, I know, Dead Weight, but I think it's a fun card and I think it is useful in my particular meta. Additionally, it adds devotion for Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx.
This is a slight rebuild. I added 1x Gray Merchant of Asphodel because, well, why not? If you don't like it, I would replace it with 1x Sheoldred, the Apocalypse or another 1x of Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. I did also add Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet as I think it's just a solid card. I added 2x Reckoner Bankbuster and that card has truly impressed me. It's a nice bit of card draw. and it survives board wipes (except Farewell).
The addition of a couple of different removal spells has also helped the deck. Heartless Act is good against Boros Convoke and a pretty good removal spell otherwise. Additionally, Hero's Downfall is nice to aim at planeswalkers and can also hit creatures.
The sideboard is just modestly updated, but I think more functional for the meta in which I play. Adjust as you see necessary for your meta.
If you want a deck that is semi-competitive and also fun, then this is the deck for you. Adjust as necessary for the meta at your lgs, as I have done here.
Enjoy!
