Additions to Main Deck:
- Scene of the Crime: Coming in tapped is not the best but being able to tap for red and create a treasure is very nice. The fact that I can pay 2, sac it, and draw a card in desperate situations is a nice ribbon if needed.
- Clown Car: A 0 cost card that allows me to tap all my dwarves, what is not to like. Wish I got one of these earlier to add to my deck.
- Roaming Throne: 4 cost dwarf artifact creature that doubles the treasure creation trigger on Magda, Brazen Outlaw. Give it the ability to tap and untap itself and it might be the perfect card for this deck. Luckily we have Clock of Omens to provide that ability.
- Cavern-Hoard Dragon: One dragon I don't mind drawing since it is often cheaper to cast from my hand than tutoring it out with Magda, Brazen Outlaw's ability. Often results in 3+ treasures when it attacks with 10+ not being out of questions in later rounds.
Additions to Side Board:
- Crime Novelist: Testing to see if this is a win more card in this deck or if it can help accelerate to the end game with its temp ramp / pseudo ritual effect. Being able to sac 5 treasure, tutor Helm of the Host and attach it for 'free' seems good, but not sure it is good enough and fast enough. Will be testing to see how it works out.
- Mobile Garrison: Moved from the Main Deck for Clown Car.
- Myr Battlesphere: Moved from the Main Deck for Roaming Throne. Just not good enough without Maskwood Nexus out and felt to bad to draw into on early and mid game turns.
- Steel Hellkite: Was a removal piece that just proved too slow for my meta. Moved to make room for Cavern-Hoard Dragon.
I also removed a Snow-Covered Mountain for Scene of the Crime
Updated for the new set, Kamigawa Neon Dynasty. Unfortunately, this set gave Magda no love and zero cards from it will be making it into the deck.
There was one change on the list though. I have swapped Fire Diamond for Cursed Mirror. Fire Diamond comes in tapped so the mana isn't usable until turn 3 anyway and Cursed Mirror can come in as a dwarf, another non-legendary copy of Magda, Dockside Extortionist, or other combo or value piece I or another player has for a turn.

I've put together something similar, though I also incorporated Dragon's Approach. Check it out if you're interested Dragon Dwarves Budget copy

Saljen Thanks for the comment and up vote. I don't use Dragon's Approach because I don't have enough dragons to make it worth it and all the combos take up the room needed for the all of Dragon's Approach needed to make it work. I noticed you included Maskwood Nexus in your build as well. I assume for its ability to let Magda or Dragon's Approach search for any creature once it is on the battlefield.
All that said I could see it being a fun and good way to build the deck if you go way more dragon focused thank I did, since it becomes another Magda, Brazen Outlaw trigger for you while also pushing damage to players.

Update New Capenna: New Capenna is an interesting set with a good amount of cards dealing with treasure. Many of which have been added to the Maybe Board for this deck including:
These cards didn't make the cut currently, not because they are bad cards, but because they don't fit the style of deck. In a different style Magda deck they would fit great.
The one card that made it so far is Seize the Spotlight, replacing Seize the Spoils in the 99. At its worst Seize the Spotlight lets you cantrip and get a treasure and is slightly worse than Seize the Spoils since you don't get the second card. However, as soon as you can politic someone into choosing Fortune it is 100% better. Most of the time people are going to chose Fame, letting you borrow their best creature for the turn. Clearing blockers, potentially killing mana dorks or other "safe" creatures, or just hitting someone in the face with their own creature is all upside that Seize the Spoils does not provide. With Maskwood Nexus out those creatures give you treasure when they attack as well.

Update Dominaria United: This expansion did not add much to this deck. No cards were added to its main board; however, a few cards printed between the last update and now have been added to the Maybeboard.
All were added and would be useful in certain builds of the deck but did not synergize with the main deck to make the cut.

Update for March of the Machines: Wizards continues its treasure hate in this set so there is nothing added to the main deck with just one card (Axgard Artisan) added to the maybe deck so far. The deck as is does not really have any +1/+1 synergy so it does not make it into the main deck.

I don't know how I didn't have that listed as an option already. Good call out.

So, I have a question in regards of Maskwood Nexus. The second part of Maskwood Nexus says: Create a 2/2 blue Shapeshifter creature token with changeling. With it being a BLUE card does it this mean you cant play Maskwood Nexus because it does not meet the mono red requirement for the deck?

Darkshae If I may answer, Maskwood Nexus is legal here. Color words don't count toward color identity. Only color symbols and their variations like count. Otherwise, cards like Lightwielder Paladin would be awkward to use.

After looking over, thinking about, and testing the cards in LTR and LTC below are the 5 changes I have made to the deck. After several sets of no changes we are almost overwhelmed with additions. There have been 4 made to the main deck and 1 to the maybe.
Main:
1. Mines of Moria added. Snow-Covered Mountain removed. Mines of Moria will almost always come in untapped and has the upside of being able to get two treasure for us in a pinch.
2. Gimli of the Glittering Caves added. Dwarven Recruiter removed. While Dwarven Recruiter is a situationally good card, I don't often find myself short of dwarves in this build of the deck. For 3 mana I would rather have a dwarf that can get me 3 treasures on a swing then one that will guarantee my next few draws are dwarfs.
3. Gloin, Dwarf Emissary added. Dwarven Thaumaturgist removed. This is a straight upgrade. Gloin will make a treasure in response to about 33% of the current deck build being cast. In general that has been 2 or 3 extra treasures per game that I can use to keep something big and scary away from me or to speed up my game plan as needed.
4.Cavern-Hoard Dragon added. Steel Hellkite removed. Steel Hellkite is removal, but situational and generally uses one of the precious Magda, Brazen Outlaw activations to get it out so is obvious and can be planned around. Cavern-Hoard Dragon is a bomb whether you draw it mid/late and play it for 3-4 mana and then swing to get 5-6 treasure or you bring it out with Magda, Brazen Outlaw to block and then swing with it on your turn to get all you treasures back. In my testing this card has by far generated me the most Treasure, due to the artifact heavy meta I play in.
Maybe:
1. Spiteful Banditry: I debated putting this in the main deck, there is 1 thing that kept it out. The worst sentence to see on a card in Magic, in my opinion, "This ability triggers only once each turn". If that wasn't on this card it is an auto include variable boardwipe that gives me treasures for killing my opponents creatures. As it stands the best case scenario is to play it when you have no creatures out or the creatures with the highest toughness and wipe your opponents board and get 1 treasure. There might be metas this is more useful in, which is why it was included in the maybe section. I doubt I will ever slot it into the main deck; unless, I am completely misunderstanding the card, since at most 1 treasure per opponent's turn seems unlikely and slow.

Delina, Wild Mage could be worth it for the double Magda
June 30, 2023 3:20 p.m.
king-saproling Thank you for the recommendation. I have added it to the Maybe list, since to my understanding the copy would not trigger off any dwarves that attacked with Delina, Wild Mage. So would only double token in my second main phase. While this is possible it is not guaranteed. Since I would need another way to tap the dwarves on the field.

After ample testing of the cards brought to us in AFR, 5 changes have been made to the deck focused on ramping treasure production even higher. Plundering Barbarian, Xorn, Hoarding Ogre, Treasure Vault, and Unexpected Windfall have all be swapped in. For thoughts on why these cards were added see the AFR entry in Updates section.
