Casual* Budget Counters GU (Simic)

do you want to frustrate your friends alot, but you can't afford a deck above the 100 euro/dollars? then this might be the deck for you. It has all you expect from G/U: it has the big wompy creatures from green, like Ravaging Riftwurm , Plaguemaw Beast and Woodripper as well as its mana makers Gyre Sage and Honored Hierarch and it has the control of a blue deck.

the biggest and baddest creature from your collection here is Ravaging Riftwurm , a fat 6/6 for just 3 mana!!! there's only one problem: it will disappear after attacking for one turn, that is if you cast him unprepared. What you need is to proliferate or double the amount of counters it has on it, because every turn a time counter will be removed and when the time counters hit zero, it will die (at the upkeep). your best proliferater for begin game is Thrummingbird . this little bird will keep your counters up (with aquaous form if need be). which means you get big bad creatures from turn 3 and on. remember that proliferate doesn't just work on time counters, it will work on +1/+1 counters as well, which means that your Gyre Sage and Honored Hierarch will become threats as well.

But sending big monsters and small flyers isn't the only thing this deck does. It has more tricks on it's sleeve. Parallax Tide is the meanest cards of them all. you get to exile lands your opponents control and keep it allive with your little Thrummingbird , which is insane. Also, you could use Jolting Merfolk to tap your opponents creatures. The more proliferaters you have on the field, the more lands you can exile and creatures you can tap. Thrummingbird isn't the only proliferater you have, you also have cards like Contagion Engine , Contagion Clasp , Vorel of the Hull Clade and Viral Drake .

Viral Drake is a threat on itself, as well as a proliferater. It has infect, which means it deals combat damage in -1/-1 counters as well as dealing poison counters on an opponent. these counters can also be proliferated.

this deck offers a lot of threats to an opponent, it has big bad monsters, a lot of mana, exiles your opponents lands, taps his/her creatures and deals poison counters. it plays fast and doesn't cost much. the two most expensive cards are Nissa, Voice of Zendikar and Contagion Engine , which both could be replaced with another Everflowing Chalice , Viral Drake or something else you like.

if you like to play blue as well as green, i highly recommend you to test out this deck yourself.
