Since there are far too few decks on this platform, that feature my favourite mechanic, I decided to build a deck around that very keyword. Back, when I started playing and Amonkhet was still in the standard rotation, I fell in love with the exert-creatures and always wanted to catch that high again, when I started to get better at MTG. But Modern always felt too overpowered for my squad to survive, so I was happy, when Pioneer was announced, because maybe the powerlevel isn't too strong in this format. Still I would rank this deck as a casual list, since it is easily disrupted in my experience

The Combo

The thing with exert creatures is that they are usually pretty meek and insignificant. But (mostly) you can use their unique abilities to gain a powerful advantage. The downside is, that they won't untap during your next untap step, which can make them terrible. But wait, isn't there a way to attack with creatures and leave them untapped? You got it, we have many sources, that grant our attackers vigilance, which makes them incredibly powerful, because who doesn't like a 4/4 creature with lifelink for ? ( Glory-Bound Initiate )
