"If you're lost you can look--and you will find me... Time after time"

Ever since I saw Clock of Omens, I knew I had to find a way to break it. Well, after scouring the four corners of the wasteland known as "The Internet," this is what I've found.

This deck has multiple infinite combos to close out the game and most of the individual pieces work well on their own.

  1. Combination of Battered Golem or Grinding Station + Clock of Omens + Myr Turbine = Infinite 1/1 Myr Tokens

  2. Combination of Battered Golem or Grinding Station + Clock of Omens + Prototype Portal with a Lotus Bloom imprinted = Infinite Mana of Any Color

  3. Combination of Battered Golem or Grinding Station + Clock of Omens + Prototype Portal with a Mox Opal imprinted = Infinite Mana of Any Color

  4. Combination of Battered Golem or Grinding Station + Clock of Omens + Prototype Portal with a Memnite imprinted = Infinite 1/1 Memnite Tokens

  5. Combination of Battered Golem or Grinding Station + Clock of Omens + Prototype Portal with an Ornithopter imprinted = Infinite 0/2 Ornithopter Tokens

  6. Combination of Battered Golem or Grinding Station + Clock of Omens + Prototype Portal with a Darksteel Citadel imprinted = Infinite Colorless Mana

You can use any of these combos (except Number 3) with a Ghirapur AEther Grid to get Infinite Damage. Unfortunately, the "legend rule" prevents us from making infinite permanent copies of Mox Opal. The only reason we can make Infinite Mana that way is because we can sacrifice the tapped Opal.

{Non-Combo Cards}

Buried Ruin is here so that we can get back any artifacts that get destroyed, such as the inevitable case where your opponent uses a Lightning Bolt to kill your Battered Golem.

Inventors' Fair acts as a way to give us incremental life gain, but it's mostly there as a tutor for whatever artifact we're missing.

As I said earlier, you can use Mox Opal or Lotus Bloom to accelerate your ability to drop some of these permanents. Through playtesting, I've had times where I just toss a Lotus Bloom into a Prototype Portal so that it's like I have three extra lands per turn.

So far, the quickest kill I have had is Turn 5. I know that's not great, but between throwing Ornithopter, Myr Tokens, and Memnite under our opponent's creatures, we should be able to stall. I know I have been able to.

Welding Jar is the bread and butter of any artifact-based Modern deck. The fact that we can make an infinite number of them to regenerate all of our artifacts is pretty solid. I'd considered one or two in the main.

Scour from Existence is the best catch-all solution to things like Leyline of Sanctity or Ensnaring Bridge depending on what kill-route you're taking. It will eat anything and getting mana isn't hard with this deck.

Witchbane Orb is our version of Leyline of Sanctity so that Burn doesn't just mutilate us game two or three.

Pyroclasm Useful for slowing down pesky "go-wide" decks like Humans (with their awful Thalia, Guardian of Thraben), or BW Tokens and its ilk.

Thanks for taking the time to look over this. If you notice any other combos in the deck as you playtest or look through it, please don't hesitate to let me know. Also, I'm always open to suggestions, other than "Play a different deck, scrub."

Stay cool, people, and you'll find me on here... Time after time...
