As a modern player who wants to compete with the top decks but does not want to spend a whole lot of money investing into one, this dredge deck was created with the purpose of being able to survive against decks like tron and maybe take a few wins along the way. With my experience at my local LGS, this deck does indeed seem to survive long enough versus a few decks such as Tron, Death's Shadow, Red Deck Wins, and certain control decks. It is more of a "spill it all out as fast as you can" type of deck. Go hard or go home. It does not last too long.

A hand I would keep would have at least 2 lands that both give red mana, some dredge cards, and a Cathartic Reunion or Merchant of the Vale. Considering how we have no ways of gaining the lands back from the graveyard (we are not running Life from the Loam), we run Dakmor Salvages to gain back our Bloodghasts later in the game. Other than that, this deck can win typically on turn 4 or 5. If you do not win by then, it is most likely over.
