That's a good idea, when I first built this deck, it was more green so I didn't think I could play it but now my deck is around half and half so I will playtest with it. Thanks for the upvote!

I feel like Vineshaper Mystic would serve you better than Jungleborn Pioneer given the focus on +1 counters. I know JP can give you a double trigger on Deeproot Elite, but Vineshaper Mystic lets you really choose your counters more effectively I think and is a better blocker/stand in, with the 3 base toughness.
Another card to consider is Curious Obsession, as the card advantage can be really impressive on something like Mist-Cloaked Herald, or anything else that is unblockable (flyer from Climb, anything else if you have Herald of Secret Streams out)

Those are good ideas, but I prefer Jungleborn Pioneer as it is a good top deck after a wrath, and it provides more bodies for Deeproot Elite, Merfolk Mistbinder, and Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca. As for Curious Obsession, it could be good but it would mean going down some merfolk, making all the lords worse and Unclaimed Territory worse.

Thoughts on Merfolk Trickster? I play them in blue-white flash and are really good. Always nice to remove a blocker when setting up attacks and removing indestructible or first strike from opponents threats.
