A powerful human female mage, Kirada is the custodian of the Qarsi Palace. She runs the place, from the dockside gambling halls to the upper-level pleasure domes. She is a native of the Sagu jungle and was said to be a fierce warrior who was a master of the forest and its secrets before she took on the role of overseer. She is often seen with her trained baboons, who attack anyone at her command. She is also well-versed in various poisons and intoxicants—a valuable skill when wishing to close a deal with a wealthy client or removing a particularly irritating obstacle.

Seb McKinnon is my guy! His art is always so hauntingly beautiful, and I'm especially a fan of his more surreal pieces. Here are some of my favorites:

Well, I think each card is good by its own way. It depends from the combination with other cards. jordanalessi Some player would love Rite of the Serpent for strategys that use the high cmc of this card in positive ways.

It comes down to Epochalyptik 's sixth principle, "efficiency" or as Catalog9000 said, "low cost, high impact". Like Argeaux said, Rite of the Serpent sucks, and that's because it has an absurdly high cost when compared to cards that have a similar outcome like Go for the Throat.
The "impact" of a card can be tricky to judge because it can vary depending on the strategy of the deck. For example, Flying Men is a low-impact card that becomes high-impact when used in an Edric, Spymaster of Trest EDH. But like DrLitebur said, there are some cards like Sol Ring which are low-cost & high-impact in ANY deck regardless of strategy.
THOSE kinds of cards are the best: efficient AND independently useful regardless of specific strategy.

This is a dumb card, BTW.
In the right hands it could still be useful.
It may happen with this deck that someone works out a synergy you missed. Hence why it will need a LOT of playtesting.

So a lot of the art and flavor text in MTG gets lost because it is printed on truly awful cards. For example:
These are all bad to unplayable cards, yet have absolutely stunning art.
What are some of your favorite pieces of art that have been stuck on terrible cards?

In terms of cards you really should include, Chainer's Edict (though it is only a common on MTGO), Murder, and Journey to Nowhere.
As far as cards that are hilarious, there's Bottle Gnomes (common in tempest), and Rite of the Serpent. Rite is a passable limited removal spell, but has some of the best art in the game, at least in my opinion.
Other than that it looks like you did a pretty excellent job. Hopefully I'll get to draft it next semester
