Do not attempt to play this deck. Eleven lands in a five-color 136-card deck won't work well. It'll be like trying to french fry when you should be pizza-ing. You're gonna have a bad time.

I am aware that Mr. McKinnon is currently embroiled in something of a scandal involving the Canadian trucker blockade/some other crap related to vaccinations or whatever, and that some fans of cancel culture would prefer that he just went away forever. I believe in the notion of separating the art from the artist. An individual's personal political beliefs don't need to detract from the art that they create (to a certain point. I certainly wouldn't support an artist that was directly hurting people or anything like that. The stuff Mr. McKinnon is involved with doesn't come close to that echelon, IMO). As such, I believe that the card art compiled here can be enjoyed whether or not you or I agree with any specific political stance.

When I first played Magic ages ago (between Revised and Urza's Saga), I always enjoyed the fact that the card art ran across a spectrum of styles. Some stuff was very realistic (Elves of Deep Shadow), some very cartoony (Recycle). Some dark (Urborg Stalker), some whimsical (Phelddagrif, of course!). Even some watercolors (I never particularly loved Drew Tucker's cards (Clockwork Beast?), but his style was certainly unique). The art has always been an appreciable part of playing and collecting Magic, and I feel that old school Magic sets represented a wide range of styles and inspirations.

When I got back into Magic during Shadows Over Innistrad, it seemed to me that while not being explicitly true of all cards, that the card art went almost exclusively towards a photorealistic high fantasy aesthetic. There's certainly nothing wrong with this, a great many of the cards that fit this description are absolutely gorgeous. It just seemed to me that the art had become far more homogenous than it used to be.

Something else I found was that almost every time I looked at a card and found myself thinking "Wow, this art really stands out and is really cool", that card was illustrated by Seb McKinnon. I think I first took note of it when I saw Deliver Unto Evil and liked that the style could easily have been a middle-ages type stained glass window or some sort of Bolas-worshipping religious fresco contrasted with the more consistent art styles on other cards. Looking into it further from that point, I found that a lot of the other cards I admired in passing were also McKinnons. It seems his cards often tell a story in a single frame, one that is often both fanciful and darkly foreboding at the same time.

Anyway, I decided to compile this list so that all of his cart art is accessible in a single place for myself and for anyone else who might enjoy such a thing. So here it is, currently all 136 cards sporting his art. (Side note: only a few MTGO only cards did not appear in TappedOut's database, as well as a few tokens) I will do my best to keep this list up to date as (hopefully) more of his cards appear in future sets. Please let me know if I missed anything.
