Assistance for a modern sliver deck

Deck Help forum

Hi all, I'm new to magic this year and I have and idea for making a sliver deck (you can view the deck here, Sliver ) and I was wondering if anyone had some ideas for any non-sliver cards I might be able to use, (I'm thinking of Archetype of Aggression at the moment since its cheaper than any of the trample slivers). I also don't know what to add for the last 4 cards in the deck, am I right for mana considering I have the Manaweft Slivers or should I throw in a few more lands. I also would like some suggestions for some non-creature cards to help buff my slivers incase of a long game (Is Obelisk of Urd viable or too high-costing?) Thanks, and if you comment on this post or my deck, leave a link to one of your decks and I'll try to give you some suggestions or a +1.

Add 1 more Venom Sliver to increase the chances of drawing it, then add 3 Cavern of Souls, any tribal deck needs a way to make their creatures uncounterable. Also the fact is that 20 lands is just too little for a creature deck with anything costing more than 3 mana. I wouldn't add Obelisk of Urd, it is too slow for this deck, by turn 6, you want every sliver to be a flying 6/6, and have already almost dealt your opponent lethal.

Take out the 4 Mirrodin's Cores for 4 Reflecting Pool, they are the single best land you can have in 5 color, as once you have another of your lands played down, they can tap for any color, no drawbacks.

Your sideboard needs some serious work. Take out the Amoeboid Changeling and the Hivestones, you won't need either of those. If you want to make this a competitive aggro deck, you need to find cards to disrupt your opponent on games 2 and 3. If the opponent has a strong midrange deck, bring have 1 Sliver Legion and 1 Obelisk of Urd. For the very quick aggro decks, have a Remand, Counterspell, or Pact of Negation. Versus affinity, Hurkyl's Recall, and Annul. For creature heavy decks, Dreadbore, Terminate.

I will leave the rest up to you, but good luck.

I once did a Modern Sliver deck. It didn't won any GP, of course, but it was very consistent and fun. The secret? Bant Meathooks.4x Remand 4x Mana Tithe 4x Diffusion Sliver.

Really, there are some ppl that hate Slivers, and some ppl that hate counter spells, when you combine both, some people rage quit even if they could win (or even WOULD win). Path to Exile was interesting in some matchups but have a great nonbo with both counterspells and Dif Sliver.

Never cut any Sinew Sliver/Predatory Sliver. NEVER.

But yeah, that's what I needed to say, you can't play aggro at modern without either being very fast or having a bunch of tempo plays (that's why Delver is so good now, it has both AND Ancestral Recall). Talking about delver, I think it's a good ideia to try Treasure Cruise

Eduardogbg, I didn't mention that its mostly a casual deck, based on the fact that my first ever booster pack contained both a Manaweft Sliver and a Thorncaster Sliver and I thought that they looked pretty cool, so I'm not sure how much actual modern play it will actually see, so I'll add some of the counterspells, but I want to keep it to mainly cards that help my slivers directly. I'll definitely be sure to add in the Treasure Cruise and Ancestral Recall if I can get my hands on one
