Commander Deck Help forum

So it's mono-colored weekend next week in my play group and I have to admit I've never built a mono-colored deck before.
I need help. I'm not sure which one of these to build.
My picks: Mono-Omnath, Locus of Mana, mostly gonna be a mana focused deck (token sub theme with Cryptolith Rite to boost the mana even more).
Mono-: Marrow-Gnawer,Relentless Rats and other rats (tribal deck)
OR
Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, Shadowborn Apostle/Demon beatdown sac deck (Similar to JLK's Athreos, God of Passage deck on gameknight for those who are familiar with the show)
Mono-: Neheb, the Eternal, Just red deck wheel/burn.
Mono-: Sram, Senior Edificer, Just a voltron deck.
No Mono-, I don't want to play a mono blue deck(I like blue when its mixed up with something else but the perspective of playing a mono-blue deck is just not appealing to me.)
Alright so tell me which one of these you would play and why :) oh and if you think of some sweet combos or just awesome cards (new or old/ expensive or cheap) don't hesitate to link it.
I know you said no mono blue but I play a voltron Tromokratis that's petty fun. It's non traditional mono blue with counter spells only to protect my valuables and a good bit of extra turns for more face beating. No infinite. No permission mumbo jumbo. Just stack equipment and swing for lethal.

Out of these, I would choose the one with the most varied strategy and the most diverse gameplay:

Rats.dek is really simple and has the strategy of getting more rats into play. Same with shirei, though he has a great toolbox of creatures he can utilize.

Neheb and sram are also a bit one dimensional, though sram has a bigger toolbox of tricks.

Omnath is just a very versatile commander that go any number of ways and is no way reliant on its commander.
If i had to choose a top three, it would be:
Top - Omnath, Shirei, Sram - Bottom

I have to vote for since it is my favorite color. I would say if you go with rats use Rat Colony over Relentless Rats. The colony is easier to kill but its power grows for EVERY rat while relentless grows only for each other relentless. This makes a huge difference when you are running Marrow-Gnawer.
That said I would recommend Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker with the Shadowborn Apostles. This deck is a lot of fun and people really underestimate the versatility of demons. My Reaper Born is Athreos but you can see much of what you might want to include in the deck. And since you are mono- you have room for some of the things I don't like Coat of Arms which turns the clerics huge and the demons that are already big even bigger. Running Conspiracy is also interesting depending on the non-demons you play.
It is the best thing in the world to instantly summon up Archfiend of Depravity or Ob Nixilis, Unshackled.

If you go with omnath, put in some stuff to make him hexproof or indestructible because people like to focus on him (I wonder why...). Also, put in some cards to be able to flash him back him before your manapool empties (yeva, vedalken orrery, winding canyons, flash). And finally, deathtouch+trample!!.

Shirei, you can build a pretty powerful Shirei for 20 bucks and it is great!

Omnath, Locus of Mana ! ! !
Fast, fun, and lots of draw-card options & tutors in green! The deck can go wide or tall depending on what you draw at any given time. I've seen both a friend's version and my version win in multiplayer and 1v1 settings.
I love cards like Craterhoof Behemoth, Triumph of the Hordes and Rogue's Passage (among others) to help close out games.

SynergyBuild Thanks for the vote but Shadowborn Apostle being around 5$ where I live I highly doubt it's gonna be only 20$ ^^'.

I vote omnath from that list. Lots of good choices. My personal mono deck is Chainer, Dementia Master.
