Help building my first syperfriends commander deck!

Commander Deck Help forum

Posted on June 30, 2018, 1:23 p.m. by TGGE

so I'm not new to magic but building my first super-friends commander decks seems to be challenging i know i need doubling season,Also i know there are like 4 different choices for the commander so I'm getting confused then as well.

Also I know one of the people I'm going against regularly has immortal sun artifact so I have no idea what the best cards would be to deal with that.

1 last thing is that I am collecting all the planes-walkers so i don't think it will be a problem on that from for the deck :) and I only need 3 planes-walkers which are :

Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath Liliana of the Veil Dack Fayden

Just so you know which ones i don't have :). Anyway thanks for all the help if you help me also sorry for the long post.

I have played super friends a few different ways it is pretty fun but actually winning can be hard. Planeswalkers are awesome and some of them do win games but I felt like with each deck there needed to be another way to win. My most successful version was with Ramos, Dragon Engine. He can get pumped up enough to be able to one shot someone and is able to accelerate you into some huge plays.

Some things I think you need to include besides doubling season are The Chain Veil, Deepglow Skate, Thrummingbird, Viral Drake, Contagion Engine, and Atraxa, Praetors' Voice. Atraxa is good in the 99 or command zone, I like Ramos more for the commander since you get , acceleration, and a win con in one card.

For the walkers themselves I would use about 25-35 of them and just choose the ones you like the most.

I agree that Ramos is the better commander, but Brago, King Eternal is an all-star with PWs and should definitely be in the 99.

Teferi, Timebender+Deepglow Skate+Brago, King Eternal = Infinite turns with 2lifegain and 2drawcard each turn. Pretty much GG if you have some protection.

Besides Ramos and Atraxa the superfriends commander I see most often is Narset. You’re limiting yourself to three colors, but damn it’s fast.

I'm a big fan of Akroma's Vengeance, Nevinyrral's Disk & Pernicious Deed because they leave planewsalkers behind. Even Jokulhaups & Obliterate can be cool if you are into that kinda destruction. Sliver Hivelord is a good commander for this strategy too. I have a deck like this on my profile page.

As far as stopping The Immortal Sun, I prefer to run a handful of versatile removal options in my superfriends deck. Depends on what colors you go with, but I strongly recommend having some slots for about 5 boardwipes and 3-5 spot removal effects, preferably wide-ranged effects like Merciless Eviction, Grasp of Fate, Anguished Unmaking, Utter End, Nevinyrral's Disk, etc.

Here is a link to my superfriends deck if you want some ideas. It's had some changes since I made this list but its a good starting point-

Super-Duper Friends
