This spicy meatball is a control deck that uses a combination of burn and exile to keep the opponent off your back until you're ready to play your Chandra Planeswalkers to close out the game. Soulfire Grandmaster and Sacred Cat are key to outlasting aggressive decks with life gain. If your opponent does not immediately kill Soulfire Grand Master, each of your burn spells will double as removal and life gain. This deck also produces enough mana to make use of the Grand Master's ability to recycle spells.

Soulfire Grand Master will win you games

in this deck. Collective Defiance can be used to deal 4 damage to a creature, 3 damage to a Planeswalker and gain you 7 life if you have a Soulfire on the board. Nevermind attacking for 2 and gaining 2.

9 damage dealt and 9 life gained on turn 4.

Valakut Awakening, Risk Factor and Collective Defiance all playing double duty as methods for looting your hand for answers.

Sideboarding against Aggro and Control

In an aggro matchup you can sideboard Risk Factor for Anger of the Gods and Chandra, Awakened Inferno for Elspeth, Sun's Nemesis. Even without Risk Factor your deck has multiple looting effects that will make escaping easy to get repeatable life gain.

In matchups where lifegain useful, you can sideboard Sacred Cat and Soulfire Grand Master for Monastery Swiftspear and Eidolon of the Great Revel to speed up the clock of the game. Cast Away can be substituted for Gideon's Intervention to stop an opponent's end-game threats from ever being played. Sorcerous Spyglass can replace Seal Away to give you early game intel on what cards to name with Gideon's Intervention.
