This is my first modern deck and it needs suggestions. I've looked in to the 8 Rack decks and I've found the deck to be a bit different in how it works and what they're aiming to achieve, but if all else fails and this deck will truly not work then I'll just be converting this to an 8 Rack. But please do hear me out here in the description before you kindly suggest, so you'd understand the background. I strongly feel that I want to make this deck work, because I see so much potential in it. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
Originally, I started out as mono black discard. Sets of all the black pieces, plus set of Surgical Extraction on the mainboard and a pair of Nyxathid. Here is a copy of the original draft if you intend to try it out.

Pretty straight forward discarder. I didn't run Thoughtseize nor Inquisition of Kozilek because I noticed most players would discard lands first. This started me thinking of aiming for a discarder and land destruction at the same time. At my surprise the original mono black deck did fairly well against burn but I was stuck with the problems of Leyline of Sanctity and creature heavy decks.
Most games would start with this situation, and I will use matches against burn as an example because most have a difficulty dealing with the deck. On turn one discard, turn two I'll force him to discard again, then turn three Smallpox which is an extremely heavy blow for most decks because most decks tend to think they can survive with two land. Which is true and here is where I saw my advantage. By the next turn, my opponent is holding a bunch of spells he or she probably can't cast and has discarded his extra creatures and lands. Next I would use Ghost Quarter to destroy dual lands, limiting even further his movements, and if I had multiple copies of Ghost Quarter, I would use it over and over again on the basic lands, because most decks tend to use a very limited number of basic lands and I have succeeded in doing this a couple of times. By then I would have controlled most of the game.
Now my problem is coming to the second game, where we begin to pull in the sideboard. Once Leyline of Sanctity has come in to play, I'm pretty much a sitting duck. So I decided to convert and splash in some green to remove most of my problems. But I'm still unsure of my decisions and would like to ask the community for good advice on the topic since I am a fairly new player to magic and more importantly to modern. Thank you again for your time. Please let me know if you liked anything about it or any points I may improve on. Thank you, Goodluck to all of you as well.
