Okay, this is a lock-down deck I am working on and am keeping it T2.
The following cards lock down decks in different ways:
Leonin Arbiter delays deck searching for Mana Ramp, Pod, Green Sun Zennith, Tutors, etc. It can also combo with Ghost Quarter causing it to act like a Strip Mine if they don't have the mana open to bypass the no deck search restriction.
Stony Silence simply kills equipment, myr decks, any artifact that needs to be activated. It also kills Pod, Mage Blade and any deck using
Sphere of the Suns
. If I find out the opponent is NOT running artifacts then it is something I will sideboard out after the first game.
Grafdigger's Cage is quite notorious since it's release. It slows down or stops Sun Titan, Snapcaster Mage and all forms of Flashback/reanimation. It is also a card I will sideboard out if I determine it is not stopping my opponent in any way.
Curse of Exaustion is a wonderful card that can will always be in the deck. Restricting an opponent to only one spell a turn is fantastic, especially if I manage to play Knowledge Pool which locks them out from casting spells for the rest of the game. Any spell they try to cast is exiled and then they MAY cast another exiled spell with Knowledge Pool however they already cast their one spell that turn keeping them from using any spells in the pool.
Fiend Hunter, Leonin Relic-Warder, Suture Priest and Phyrexian Metamorph combo together in two different infinite life gain combos. Both of them require Suture Priest who is an outstanding card alone and will hurt the decks that spit tokens out like nobodies business.
Grand Abolisher will stop people from counterspelling the combo once I get it going.
Grand Architect can assist in getting Knowledge Pool out early and Treasure Mage helps fetch it even if I have to pay a bit more to do so.
Norn's Annex can help stop creature swarm decks from taking the field and dominating. Best part is if they don't run white they have to then pay life to attack. So if they are not doing 3 damage per attacker it ends up not being worth it.
I only have cards in the deck that I own and am looking for ways to improve it. Tips and suggestions would be fantastic.
